199 Vaginas: The Ultimate Photo Collection

I got this for my boyfriend as kind of a gag gift since he is a vagina aficionado, and he really likes it. He said he would like more spreading the clotoris was not shown off enough. It was a little expensive for what it is but I enjoyed the results haha

"199 Vaginas: The Ultimate Photo Collection" is anything but what the title says. Unfortunately, this book does not do the subject matter justice at all. While the concept of the book is great; a collection of much diversity, the execution was just horrible. The editor of this book should be canned. As someone who deeply appreciates the subject matter of this book, I was very let down by the low resolution and low quality of every photo in the book. its quite unfortunate because the pictures could have been very good. But when I buy a book whose central focus is the vagina, I expect to get a book of high quality images on thick, glossy stock. I expect to get a book of vaginas that shows explicit detail where i can see every line, every follicle of hair and every drop of moisture. Instead, I get a book of matte stock and low resolution images in which up close detail is severely lacking. Its insulting to the viewer, and its insulting to the subject matter. Images look pixelated, and when you come across an image that was shot three feet away or more from the subject, you can't see any detail, only vague, blocky representations of what appears to be a vagina. This book was made to show us a diverse variety of vaginas, but instead we got crappy collection of distorted vulvas. I will be returning this book. If it was reprinted with higher quality images, I might consider adding this one to my collection. But as it stands right now, its a waste of time and money, even to that serious connoisseur of the subject matter. If you're looking for a book full of vaginas, might I suggest you take a 'pass' on this one.

I love to look at women's vaginas. This is an art book. I like to see how different vaginas look. If you are a connoisseur then you will like this book. Definitely not a jerk off book. It's more about admirering the thing we are all after.

The correct title of this book should be: 199 Pictures of Vaginas that I Downloaded Collection I'm a bit concerned about this book. The copy I received has no copyright information in it There is no publication information(including publisher's name or address) in it! There are no model disclaimers stating that the models in the book were all over the age of 18 when the photos were taken! (Do I now possess pictures of underage girls' vaginas?)BUYER BEWARE! The images aren't that good either. Each is only 4"X3". It's printed on low quality paper for color photos. Lots of the photos have digital compression noise in them (often from download and file size). There is a lack of consistency in the photos, all the angles and lighting varies. Most artist/photographers will have a signature style to their pieces. Is there no copyright or publisher info in this book because all the content is someone else's art and it was re-sized, cropped and used without permission? Could be!

The book was a bit smaller than expected and the picture quality was fuzzy, as if the pictures were from still shots in video format. A couple of the pictures had repeated lingerie bits like the edge of a stocking on a thigh identical to the same item in another picture. There wasn't enough diversity. Mostly appeared to be youngish Caucasian photo stock. Overall, I liked the concept, but needs improvement.

Incorrect use of the word vagina, ridiculous for what is supposed to be a celebration of anatomy. VAGINAS CAN ONLY BE VIEWED USING A SPECULUM, I DIDN'T SEE ANY IN THIS BOOK.Poor quality photo reproduction and paper. Almost all models are partially or fully shaved, very few non-white skinned models. Disappointing, porn parading as art.

Vaginas are lovelly,but out of context ,they're a little wierd. But no doubt it's an extensive study and very informative and thought provoking.

if you were interested in the ultimate boobs collection this is the perfect complement to that book. This is about the other part of the female anatomy that garner ones curiousity about female sexuality. Again about every permutation of this female physical characteristic is found in here.

I gave this book the lowest rating because I did not like it; the photos were of poor quality and I suspect that many of them were copied straight out of pornographic magazines. I would not recommend this book to anyone who enjoys good nude photography, including those people who buy tasteful porn!

I'll be straight to the point on this one. This is no "erotic photography" book. Those kind that are done by talented photographers, with amazing skills and subjects. Fox, Kern, Golitah Library, Mammoth Book of...Library, Suicide Girls, and similar. This is some shameless (and likely ashamed, juding by the rather obvious pseudonym Keyser Soze - and indeed I feel I've been conned by a mastermind...) editor or publisher putting together a book they claim to be "...not XXX, its art." Horse pucky! 199 Vaginas is worse then anything a person with too much time on their hands could dredge up for free on the internet and then crop and enlarge the labial focus point to fill a perfect little 4 x 3.25 rectangle, two on each page. LITTLE being the perfect word to describe it. Going back to my internet analogy, 'thumbnail' would like describe it best. The book measurements noted may have you believing these are decent sized photos. They are not, each page has two, for a total of four on each spread. The images can at best be considered low to medium resolution, with many appearing slightly fuzzy and even pixelated. There are the rare photos that are clear and crisp but they are the exception rather than the rule. Judging by the majority of "poses" the crop is taken from, these may even have just been collected from prior works (though again I suspect internet browsing where the cropping facilitates both the subject matter and the avoidance of copyright infringement issues!). As there is no product description on this listing, I will quote the rear cover blurb and the title page - as no other text whatsoever appears elsewhere. No copyright, no publishers info, no ISBN Catalogue (other than on rear UPC), there aren't even page numbers. Rear cover, than title page: "Vaginas, vaginas, and more vaginas! Vivid color photo clippings of over 199 vaginas from around the world. If you think you have seen one vagina and thus seen them all, you will need to think again. female genitals vary in size, depth, color, and lip shape, which has never been more apparent. There are wet vaginas, dry vaginas, dark vaginas, light vaginas, tight vaginas, loose vaginas, aroused vaginas, NC-17 vaginas, and much, much more. Naked, nude... however you want to call it, there are no clothes! ..." Actually, I'm going to stop there because I can't stop laughing! I've only left out two sentances and they're as creative as the rest. It certainly is full of the subject matter, I believe 212 if I counted right. I don't know how "from around the world" can be qualified - they are all light skinned, every last one of them. Some varying degrees of lightness that may imply a more centrally located, or perhaps pacific region, but there is not one dark complexioned one in the book. Nothing even so obvious as to actually call exotic. And I hate to dispute their claim, but after thumbing through just a few pages, I did indeed feel like I had "thus seen them all". The title page is no better: "199 vaginas; Beautiful ones. Dark ones. Light ones. Wet ones. Dry ones. Big ones. Little ones. Hairy ones. Shaved ones. Fat ones. Skinny ones. Wide ones. Narrow ones. All for you...." Okay, their list of adjectives certainly does explore the genuine range and wonderous variety of vaginas... But their photos DO NOT! These are light skinned, skinny vaginas, the vast majority of which are shaved (or waxed judging by the almost non-existance of any hairn, any where!). There is not one "big" or "fat" one included. Something a genuine art book would absolutely have included. Already said there was not one "dark" one; they run the light shades of almost albino (no offence intended to anyone) to very lightly tanned. "Hairy ones"??? There are exactly 43 photos that show hair. And about 37 of those are all VERY minimal 'landing strips' (in fact some I included in landing strips are in fact just tufts of hair), a couple more are dollar coin sized triangles, and the remaining scant few have a larger (albeit closely trimmed) triangle, though still nothing considered natural growth (there is NO hair on any photo below where the genital begins and indeed all the way round to where the buttocks start...) or bushy. ALL models appear to be in the exact legal range the porn demographic demands - about 21-28yrs - but really I'm guessing. They are not at all a representative of womankind and the variety that exists with age. There are no stretch marks, no age lines, no matured or aged to pefection examples. Something again I feel a proper erotic or art photography book would include. There are even a couple with razor burn, one with acne, and I think just one with a piercing. I'm not trying to give you a "book in text" here, and this book may indeed appeal to some collectors for whatever reason and I don't judge regardless. I purchased this as a book that I assumed was comparable to many other exceptional books Amazon carries on the female form - in any degree of clothed or unclothed. This book is a very poor knock off of "art". It has poor quality, small images that carry no genuine photographic skill or artistic content at all. It's a collection of what could best be described as "amateur fanny photography" and with no consideration given to ensuring the finished product carried responsponsibly produced content or effort. If any one else agrees, don't be shy and post a review. Had even one review hinted at this book's weakness, I'd be $25 ahead. Certainly, if anyone disagrees with my assessment, please provide a counter-point for others to judge as well. I'd rather have a purchaser make an informed decision than believe that "The Ultimate Photo Collection" implies quality. Editted June 8, 2011... *Having just received the great book "Shaven or Unshaven", published by Edition Skylight... This book is leaps and bounds better than the one titled above and what this review is for. It is the same price (or was $20 when I bought it) is almost 400 pages (!!!) and is indeed erotic art photography. Blends colour and black & white photos, is complied form many different photographers, has proper poses (full and close ups) and while still generally the model type figure, a more realistic blend of shapes and styles. Ignore "199 Vaginas" completely and go for "Shaven or Unshaven instead if you're looking for something similar. I will be writing a review for that title when I get some time.*

Une honte. D'une qualité d'impression digne d'une imprimante des années 2000. Prenez un vieux camescope, lancer un bon vieux film du samedi soir sur une TV cathodique, capturez une image et vous obtiendrez ce livre.

Relativ schlecht gedruckte Qualität von Bild Aufnahmen! Hat den Titel Bildband nicht verdient!
