My roller tip will not spin completely and i can get the point tip to melt either. Has anyone had this issue? Just got it today and i cant use it.

I'm ready to scream with this problem. I've had multiple tips, multiple tools, but it only rarely spins and the sharp tip does not make attractive melts, either.  I'm a skilled, lifelong crafter. I don't get it!

Can you use any plastic sleeves with this tool or just the We R Memories brand?

Not only can you use plastic sleeves from across all most all brands in other words basically all brands but you can save even a lot more by buying single layered laminating rolls sold for the larger commercial laminating machines and make your own any size shape etc. lamination pouches. I've been laminating since 97 and started by buying laminators and sleeves from a special commercial laminator business. Kept upgrading and buying their bundles and oh my gosh once I retired from my career I wanted to do more things with laminations but felt restricted by the smaller 12 to 14 inch opening heat laminators I had. Also I had invested in rolls some 30" wide and specialized for photo and even writing on the laminate surface and had to cut materials down to make my own sleeves. That kinda worked but single layers of the laminate even the thicker ones is difficult to keep from curling when you are trying to work it into a sleeve. This tool helps a great deal but you must go through some learning curves. If you get a lame one return it right away. Sometimes quality control in these products are iffy...so lemons need to go back asap so always check them out when they arrive. No project to try better to use some scrap laminate or smaller pouch to make sure it heats right and wheels and accessories are functioning with in your 30 day satisfaction return through Amazon so everyones a winner and you are happy. Read reviews to know if this is right for you. Even great reviews doesn't mean a product fits your needs or your personality. I know I've backed out of ordering something when I realize hey that's not going to be me. LOL. Stay safe everyone.

What do you put under the plastic sleeve when cutting (i.e., so I don't burn the table top)?

I bought a small glass cutting board from the dollar store that I flipped upside down since the bottom was smooth. Then I used a strip of plain printer paper between the cutting board and the plastic I was fusing. Worked great and a cheap solution.
