Taito Micro Players (Parent) (Bubble Bobble)

As per my review for the handheld pocket player, this is a great purchase. The styling of the arcade cabinet is spot on. The joystick and buttons are very playable. The sound quality is excellent given the 8bit soundtrack. And the screen is sharp. As a bubble bobble nutjob, I had to have this machine. It only has the NES port of the game, not Rainbow Island or Bubble Bobble 2/symphony like the pocket player has. This is a shame as there is no reason they could not have included them on the rom. It looks great in the packaging and also as a mini arcade machine sitting alongside my jamma machines at home. Alas I am yet to find an original jamma standup machine for BB, just the various Taito and bootlegs PCBs so this mini machine is a small dream for me. Sourcing this via Amazon in the US to the UK was not cheap but definitely worth it. Arrived in 6days. For just over 50 quid altogether. Can't argue with that. Even my 9yr old wants to play this unit instead of the arcade cabinet in the games room. This is a great addition to any collection. Great work MyArcade!

What's not love about this arcade classic that despite its small size plays and looks pixel to pixel exactly like it did in the 80s. Full arcade experience with a fraction of space needed to house a full size cabinet... I own several varieties in my own personal mini arcade

I love it, just need to be bigger.

Amazing little device, fun and nostalgic.

Not exactly the original rom from the arcade which is a little disappointing. This seems to be a rom of I believe the NES version of the game, but modified. Since when in the levels with the water filled bubbles, popping them in the arcade version created a nice stream water effect, this one is more broken up. Also I have noticed that the Icons for the power ups are different from the original arcade version as well. The instruction booklet doesn't seem to cover the codes needed to input via the main menu to start where ever you want, so you may have to look them up as the NES version online.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I ordered this, but I’m really glad I did. The packaging for the arcade mini cabinet was just as beautiful as the actual cabinet. It’s a nice touch to put some background on the game on the box and really helped with the nostalgia. The game itself plays very nice and is exactly how I remembered playing it on NES (minus multiplayer of course). It even has super bubble bobble coded into the emulator! I love that I can leave it plugged in a micro-usb on my desk as well as have the option to put batteries in if I want to disconnect from a wall. The thing that really makes it so amazing thought for me is that I can 1) remove the joystick so it’s a keypad setup 2) change the volume to be louder or even mute 3) plug in headphones if I want to listen to the music but be quiet I am definitely adding some more of these micro player arcade cabinets to my wishlist!

Very small and hard to play

Hubs LOVED it immediately. Check out the video. You can control the sound on the back &/or use head phones using an auxiliary cord. I was worried the screen/joystick was gonna be too small, but it’s not! Of course right after I bought it for $34-something, I went back & it’s $28 now. But that’s ok, bc he loves his new toy! (@ 40 y/o) lol

Oh wow, so cool to play this game again (huge memories from when I was a kid)! This is much better quality than any other handheld game I have! The sound, the size, the graphics, the light, it was worth buying!

This is a faithful repreduction of the original video game. I love it gives you a code so you can continue your game and that it is also duel power - battery or usb operated. The size is decent and it's really well made. Gameplay is great with a teeny bit of lag / blurring when the screen gets busy. This doesn't spoil the gameplay or detract from my enjoyment of the game. It's beautifully packaged in a lovely box and would make a fantastic gift for anyone who like me, spent their 80's youth in the arcades playing these games at 10p a time. Takes me back and a little bit of nostalgia now on my desk which makes me smile.

Hallo liebe Leserinnen und Leser, liebe Mitnerds und Retrofreunde, ich stelle Ihnen hier den Bubble Bobble „MY ARCADE“ MICRO PLAYER PRO vor. Bubble Bobble – was für ein komischer Name, dachte ich mir damals, als ich auf dem Amiga 500 mit diesem Spiel konfrontiert wurde. „Rülpsi Schnapp Schnapp“ passt irgendwie besser… andererseits, bei einer Hintergrundgeschichte, in welcher die Brüder Bub und Bob in blasenspuckende Minidrachen verwandelt wurden, hinterfragt man besser nicht allzu viel. Hier wurde eine Fünf-Sterne+ Arbeit abgeliefert, denn neben der gewohnten Top-Verarbeitung erklingt der Originalsoundtrack wie damals und bleibt im Ohr (ob man will oder nicht). Ebenso wurde das Passwortsystem übernommen, man kann also problemlos dort weiterspielen, wo man (unfreiwillig) aufgehört hat. Zugegeben, die Eingabe ist etwas fummelig, das allerdings ist Jammern auf hohem Niveau. Kopfhörerbuche, Lautstärkeregler – es fehlt nichts, sogar die Anti-Rutschpads sind dabei. Die Verpackung ist bereits so genial, dass sie an sich schon als Deko dienen könnte, dieser Miniautomat hat mich komplett begeistert. Ich erinnere mich noch mit Schrecken an die Nano-Ausgabe des Atari 50 sowie dessen viele Fehler und Schwächen. Es mögen bitte alle, die schon einmal auf so ein Nano-Schrottteil hereingefallen sind, keine Rückschlüsse auf die erstklassigen Micro-Versionen ziehen, „Kinder ab 49“ werden hier mehr als begeistert sein! LLAP Lebt lang und in Frieden! P.S.: Ich habe zu Null Prozent raus, warum das Gerät als "Klemme" bezeichnet wird, und welche KI hier komplett ins Klo gegriffen hat... Hier ist keine "Klemme" weit und breit, nur eine vorbehaltlose Kaufempfehlung für Einzelspieler! :-)
