First ever rice cooker
Never ever had a rice cooker, nor ever ate rice from a rice cooker, but recently I had such wonderfully textured rice at Asian restaurants that I decided that I must try to improve my rice cooking. I cooked it fine on the stovetop, no problem, but after having such a great texture at Chinese restaurants, I wanted to have that at home. So, I looked and looked and tried to figure out which to buy, and I didn't want a regular teflon which get great reviews until you're eating teflon and have the throw the whole thing in the landfill. So, finally I made the decision to try this one. It is easy to use, though, I had no problem making rice before.....what I wanted, was excellent texture. This cooks the rice very nicely with improved texture......the rice doesn't split open, like can happen when I cook it on the stovetop. I am Pa Dutch, and a decent cook....but want to up my rice game. So, I bought a different rice on Amazon to also try. I think this rice cooker works well, and the 2 times I've used it, it cleans out ridiculously easily and the paddle that comes with it is super great. Like it....and I have a tiny kitchen and I don't even know where I can possibly put it. But, I like it....so, we'll figure that out. So, I think I just may want to try a nice firm rice, and then maybe I will be as happy as I'm going to be. This definitely is an improvement over what I was making on the stove top and it's easy to clean up.

pretty good rice cooker
This is a pretty good rice cooker. The design looks very nice and I really like the ceramic inner pot. It is not sticky at all and very easy to clean after cooking. It also cooks the rice the way I wanted. When I use it to cook rice with sausage, the rice turns out to be soft and sticky overall but crunchy at the bottom. However, it does have a plastic smell for the first couple times when I cook rice. As I cook more, the smell did go away. Overall, this rice cooker meets my expectations and I would recommend it to others.

Great LITTLE cooker
I have a household of 2, so we don't make more than a cup of raw rice at a time. I've had this cooker for about a year and a half and I love it. The ceramic pot is easy to clean (dishwasher) and it makes great rice, both white and brown. (use the rice setting for brown rice) I've also made quinoa in it and it turned out prefect as well. I've made soup in it too. Also good. It doesn't have a timer count down initially, but once it get to ten minutes, you'll se the timer counting down. I take the aluminum disk off and wash it along with the silicone gasket in the dishwasher, too. Here's my only complaint: I dropped and broke the ceramic bowl but there's no way to buy just the replacement bowl. I had to buy a whole new cooker, which was expensive. Tianji should have replacement parts to order on Amazon.

Great rice cooker!
I bought this rice cooker 6 months ago and I really enjoy it! I purchased it because I want to avoid the possible health effects of C8/PFOA/PFAS chemicals that are found in non-stick coatings. The ceramic inner pot works wonderfully! It is easy to clean. The rice cooker is easy to operate. I love being able to set the rice and forget about it while I cook the rest of our meal. The rice turns out perfect every time. I don't worry about the little bit of metal (aluminum?) on the inside of the lid. My rice never touches the lid of the rice cooker. I feel much more safe with the ceramic inner pot than I did with the nonstick surfaces of the Zojirushi rice cooker I had previously. I recommend this rice cooker for those who want to avoid the non-stick (Teflon) coatings.

Horrible Smell.
We purchased our rice cooker and expected it to be nice. But we were immediately disappointed when we opened the box. More specifically, it smelled like chemical. We decided to cook rice with it anyway, thinking that the smell might go away. But it did not. The next day I came home from work, and asked my wife about the horrible smell from the rice cooker. We both agree that it smells like chemical and something is terribly wrong. Buyer beware of this rice cooker. There’s some chemical problem inside the ceramic bowl. It smells really bad like chemical like rubber or somethings wrong with the ceramic bowl .

Lovely White Ceramic Insert
Appealing design. I love the WHITE ceramic insert - it's like a high-quality mixing bowl. The heft & balance are good - helpful in washing without breaking. No unexpected odors even first time. Good quality plastic paddle & ladle. Thanks to another reviewer, I used the porridge setting for my short grain brown rice with good results first time out. (3 of the cooker "cups" to the suggested water mark inside the insert for multigrain rice with timer set for 70 minutes - a little longer wouldn't have hurt) Unlike many other appliances, the colon in the set time remains flashing during the cooking process. Although the rice is well cooked, it isn't as hot when it's done as in my last cooker, so I would hesitate to leave rice on warm in this appliance.

Perfect rice time after time!
I LOVE this rice cooker! I cook rice in a pot, it gets burnt. I cook rice in another $19 rice cooker, again it burns. I was destined to always make burnt rice until I bought this beauty! Absolute perfect rice every single time, and not a scorched grain in the super easy to clean pot! Everything is written in Japanese so I am clueless to 99% of this cookers features because of that, but I know the buttons to push for perfect rice every time! Want to try making sushi at home? Well you need perfect rice, so get this perfect rice cooker!

Works Great, Actually Non Stick
I've held off reviewing this for 2 months to make sure I got some good use out of it. The quick verdict: it's great! A little more in depth: It's been fantastic for 2 months. I have only cooked riced in it, so no comment on the porridge or other settings. I can say it does a a great job on white and brown rice, and the ceramic pot is every bit if not more non-stick than the Teflon pots. It takes a little while longer to cook rice than our former Zojirushi, but not a crazy amount of time. The instructions and buttons on the machine are definitely catering towards English as a second language, but luckily anyone with basic familiarity with a rice cooker can operate this this. The buttons are labeled in English for "rice" and "start," so should be enough to get it done for most people. It also keeps rice piping on hot on "keep warm," and cleans up super easy, so not much to complain about here. I would certainly buy again!

Buyer Beware!!!
I would love to review this product, but I can’t because it doesn’t come with a standard UK plug. It comes with an American plug. So be prepared to buy a transformer in order to use it. Very disappointing!!!

the ceramic pot cracked
I love everything about the cooker, except the ceramic pot cracked in the bottom after a couple use, and the crack grows longer and longer with more uses... I read other comments, and realise this is a common issue. so I had to return it. too bad.

Crispy rice at the bottom
Don’t like this rice cooker at all. Rice comes out crispy at the bottom no matter how much water you put. I had a Panasonic rice cooker before but the bowl got scraped and was looking for a new non toxic rice cooker. This rice cooker requires way less water than my panasonic. I can’t use my finger method to measure the water. I am returning the rice cooker.
