Wonderful little box cutter!
Very attractive, sturdy design and very capable to open your boxes. It is a bit on the heavy side, but that is part of being durable. It is not razor-sharp, otherwise it would be dangerous for the user. One of the product pictures makes it obvious, as it shows the scraping edge touching the persons finger! You can always sharpen it more if you so desire. Time your purchase though! On Black Friday week it was almost at half the price than in December!

🔑 Small but Mighty! 🔑
The Gerber Gear Key Note is a tiny powerhouse! I’ve added it to my keychain as an everyday carry, and it’s been incredibly useful for all sorts of small tasks, from opening packages to quick cutting jobs. Despite its compact size, the 1" plain edge blade is super sharp and reliable. The design is sleek and minimal, making it a perfect fit for my keychain without adding bulk. It feels sturdy in hand and has a solid build quality, just what you’d expect from Gerber. The added functionality of a pry bar and bottle opener is a nice bonus for an all-in-one tool! If you need a discreet, handy knife that’s always within reach, this is a fantastic choice. Perfect for anyone looking for an efficient, everyday carry tool.

Decent, heavy
Decently heavy duty, takes two hands to open and close, but if you need a key chain knife that's robust but not scary.

One of my best purchases
I enjoy pocket knives. I don't have a job or hobby that requires me to use them daily, so I'm not sure why I've purchased so many, but I enjoy them. I've always convinced myself that "this will be the one I actually carry and get more use out of." Well this was the first one were that was actually true. I've been carrying this on my Keychain for 2 years now and have gotten so much use out of it. It's size makes it a perfect carry on a keychain. It certainly adds some weight, but really isn't very bulky. Unless you run a minimalist key setup, you're not going to be annoyed by adding this. The locking mechanisms are very nice. The frame lock to hold it open has never failed me or gotten stuck. The tension to keep it closed is excellent. I have yet to have it randomly open on me even while it's banging around with all my keys and whatnot. The blade is not insanely sharp, which to be clear is excellent. The scraping edge is meant for, you guessed it, scraping, not cutting. The cutting edge is substantially sharper, but again, not razor sharp which is a good thing for a blade you are carrying around which a bunch of other stuff in your pocket. The blade is thick and holds it's angles well and certainly could be easily sharpened if so desired. Where this blade shines is every day use. Need to pry something a bit? Use the scraping edge. Screwdriver? Scraping edge. Breaking down some boxes? Use the cutting edge. Need to quick rough cut a makeshift gasket? The cutting edge will bang it out for you. Those annoyingly sealed plastic packages. No problem. Let's be clear here, you aren't getting the sharpest, most versatile knife of all time here. But you are getting an excellent knife that handles, in my opinion, 95% of people's regular on-the-go knife needs in a form factor that is easy to carry, legal nearly everywhere, and really doesn't scream "I have a knife" if people see it. It's an excellent knife and I highly recommend it.

Not really handy.
I would give it a higher rating for build quality alone but.... The blade is not sharp, and not easily sharpened. The blade is .140" wide compared to .025ish for a utility knife, the handle is 2" compared to 5ish for a utility knife, so if you're looking for a slick replacement for a box cutter, this is not it. I'm sure I'll find a use for this knife, but it's not something I'll use everyday.

Adorable knife
My thought is that someone at Gerber wanted a tanto blade version of the Index, but the designer swnt the dimesions wrong ala This is Spinal tap. It is a neat little knife, adorable really. It's most useful as a conversation piece. It does work pretty well as a scraper. It will open boxes. It will do most things that you can do with a utility knife without having to worry about the blade braking. It is sturdy and well made. It takes an edge really well and holds it really well. Will it replace your 3 inch EDC? No, not at all, not in any way. Is the pocket clip useable? Same answer. The finger flipper nub is likewise just for show. Great as a backup knife or box cutter.

This was a great gift for my man.
This was a great gift for my man. It was a little tight but loosened up with a small adjustment. He loves it. Perfect size. Great for opening boxes at work, but not so sharp he will cut himself. Very durable.

)... in veschlossene Behälter..."

the knife is a novelty item, it's for outdoors people like me so we can claim we do own a Gerber, but even for a novelty item it's failing, yes the blade is sharp and can open your Amazon packets but for how long?, but that's not really what you buy it for or should buy it for, it's a novelty item to hang on your keys, but it hasn't been on my keys for 2 weeks and i don't even carry my keys for most of the day, yet the paint is already coming off, there are tons of other novelty keychain knives on Amazon that looks cooler or more fun that cost the same, half or less that will look nicer just as long or longer
