Love the rubber textured grip
This 32 GB flash drive works perfectly for what I need — fast, reliable storage in a small, sturdy package. The rubber grip is a really nice touch, making it easy to hold and plug in without slipping, even if your hands are wet or greasy. Transfer speeds are great, and it feels well-built compared to some cheaper plastic drives I’ve used before. I’ve been using it to move photos, videos, and documents between devices, and it hasn’t missed a beat. I live this thing. It’s by far the most durable one I have ever had. Highly recommend if you want a dependable flash drive with a nice, comfortable grip!

This is a GREAT Flash Drive
I had been looking for a fast dependable flash drive to take the place of my Sandisk Cruzer Glide. I love large flash drives, and the 32Gb size is the norm for me. After my Sandisk Cruzer Glide started giving me the fits, (everytime I plugged it in to a USB port I would have to wiggle it back and forth to make a connection) I had all I could take of it! I researched and read reviews about the Patriot Memory Supersonic Boost XT 3.0. The reviews were right! Great transfer speeds on reading and writing. It took forever and a day to transfer movies, and games, (large files....average 2.2 Gb up to 7-9Gb files) on my Sandisk, sometimes upwards of a half an hour....ridiculous! The Patriot Supersonic Boost ended all of this....GREAT performance especially running it in a 3.0 port! It cut transfer times down to minutes....and the durability of the design of this is excellent. No more moving parts, (like on the Glide) also the rubberized outer cover adds to the protection of the flash drive. The size (width) is just right also, so if you want to plug in other USB devices in next too it...there is just the right amount of room, great for laptops. I would highly recommend it....it ended my Sandisk flash drive woes! :(

Blazing upload speeds for a $40 thumb drive!
Amazing upload speeds. When I set out to upload four massive Kontakt libraries to this drive tonight, I was expecting to see speeds maxing out in the 35-45MB/s range. I was astonished to find that the uploads occurred at an average upload speed of about 68MB/s with peaks exceeding 84MB/s. This is in a relatively old Shuttle XPC powered by an i7 2600K running at 3.8GHz, and downloaded from an old Samsung 500GB HDD spinning at 7200 RPM.. In two days I will be downloading the libraries onto a Eluktronics 1TB SSD in a computer running an i7 6700K OC'd to 4.6GHz. I can't wait to see what the transfer rate will be, but I'm expecting well over 150MB/s. At any rate, this is, by far, the fastest under $50 USB thumb drive I've ever used. I highly recommend this stick. Supersonic, indeed! Edit: Did the downloads on Friday. The download speed to the Eluktronics SSD hovered around 160-165MB/s, usually with slow but quickly accelerating starts to stable speed (remember, these are all sequential files averaging about 30GB). Top download speed noted was 202MB/s (but it was achieving that only for a few seconds), but bursts in the 180MB/s range that lasted for over 30 seconds were very common. Additionally, I acquired a 256GB part over the weekend, and I saw similar upload speeds to it (again massive Kontakt libraries), from an 1TB SSD in a 4.6GHz 6700K box, although long duration upload speeds in excess of 60MB/s were more common. Final thoughts: I am very impressed with the performance of these Patriot XT parts, but I ordered a Patriot Supersonic RAGE 128GB last night, and I'll compare the performance with the XT sometime next week.

Try to separate into many folders... takes a while to load...
It's a great USB... here's what I feel I did wrong. I stored everything in here to categorize later in a couple of folders. Videos together, photos together in 3 folders... I had so many pictures, I just wanted to dump them into a large USB and call it a day to organize later, since I needed to switch computers and did not want my pictures floating around. I think an external hard drive would be better for that... This is better for very large video and sound files, that way it's easier to find. Opening very large folders of a bunch of small files is taking very long to load. The folders with a smaller amount of files is good though, as well as the ones with the large file folders with videos and stuff. What I will do in the future with these is move them to an external hard drive, and then organize them there. Then do what I did with the important pictures and categorize them into smaller USB's. This USB is my go-to - they work wonders! However, this is my first time getting the larger USB, and for what I am trying to do, it is "too much" to sit and wait for the folders to load. I have a very fast computer... I have not lost any files, however - I see some reviews on losing files on these USB's. You have to properly eject your USB as Mac and Linux and some PC's encrypt, and many times are still doing that. So when you pull it out with certain devices, it will change them into a munch of codes instead of pictures. Just a little tip. They work great, they're water proof, (I spill coffee all the time lol,) the larger USB's, probably better for less individual files that are larger.

Blazing Fast Read Speed, Good Sequential Write Speed, Average to Poor Random Write Speed.
I purchased the Patriot 256GB Boost XT USB 3 flash drive and it performs extremely well... for read purposes and most write purposes. See the attached photo of the CrystalDiskMark bench on my system. The sequential read speed is other-worldly at speeds around 350 MB/sec or greater. The sequential write speed is often 60 to 90 MB/sec which is great. Random read speed is on par with other USB 3 flash drives with 8.5 MB/sec. The random write speeds are where this USB flash drive has the bottleneck. The random writes are much slower than other offerings. The flash drive arrives in a good package, and has a soft rubbery grip that is nice and sturdy. However, instead of a more practical slide cap, the cap actually pops off, and one needs to attach it to the other end during use, or risk misplacing it. Even then, there is the possibility that the cap can fall off. The drive's main purpose with my system is to permanently store several thousand files totaling about 200GB, and accessed frequently and regularly by a piece of software I regularly use. For that, the sequential read speed is of utmost importance. Although, writing the files to the drive will be relatively quick given the 60 MB/sec sustained write speed. Overall, the USB flash drive performs extremely well for the $62 price I paid. Test System: Toshiba Qosmio X875 Laptop - Quad-Core Intel i7-3630QM with 16GB RAM, 2 x 1TB hard drive, external USB 3.0 hub Windows 10 Home x64 Operating System - Version 1511 - all applicable Windows Updates as of July 1, 2016 Test Software: Crystal DiskMark 5.1.2 x64 PROS: Blazing Fast Read speed - one of the fastest I've encountered on a USB flash drive Great Sequential Write speed - 60 MB/sec sustained on my test system (with some drops when my system buffer couldn't keep up) Good price compared to other 256GB USB offerings CONS: Slow random write speed Average random read speed Gets hot when performing writes Rubber cap can get lost, even if you attach it to the end during use.

Top Notch USB Flash Drives
Patriot Memory USB Flash Drives are top notch. I primarily use them in my VMware ESXi environment. I use them for my VMWare ESXi server deployments for both installation and running from these USB Flash Drives, they are reliable, durable, and have a nice rubber body to protect it, I have not had one fail on me yet, and they run 24 X 7. They make for easy deployments and upgrades. I used the previous version of this particular USB Drive which was a bit longer, they were installed in an internal USB port on the server it was a tight fit but worked, this model is a bit more compact and has twice the capacity and fits perfectly inside the chassis so there is nothing to bump or lose on the outside of the servers. I keep several spares on hand for quick data transfers between workstations and servers, and laptops often times they are kept inside my tech bag or on my key chain and take quite a beating, even dropped in the water on one occasion, but because of the rubber body and tight seal there was not damage and not data lost. I will continue to purchase Patriot memory in any form and always recommend it to others.

Fast, Rugged, and Handy Flash Drive!
I got this flash drive recently since my old 4GB flash drive was no longer giving me the space I needed to store my files. I decided to buy this since USB 3.0 is supposed to be a LOT faster than USB 2.0. Also, since it's made out of rubber, it wont show any scratches. (My old flash drive has many scratches on it and looks very beaten up.) When I first opened the new flash drive, I decided to do a small speed test by moving a 2GB video file I had to both the new 3.0 flash drive, as well as my old one. It only took around 2 minutes to move to the 3.0 vs. 10 minutes for the 2.0. So if you're looking for moving files speedily, 3.0 is the way to go. When you're moving files to this flash drive, there is a small red LED on one side of the drive which is convenient for telling when files are currently being written to the drive. That way you don't accidentally remove the drive while moving files. (which can corrupt your entire drive.) Overall, this is a very good flash drive to get. It's fast, durable, and reliant. I would definitely recommend this flash drive.

Excellent Thumb Drive That Provides Both Speed And Durability
I've been using an older version of this USB drive for a long time and have been really pleased with the speed and just how well it has held up over the years. When I needed a new drive to swap files with a buddy across the country this one was the device I wanted. Like the older version that I have, this drive is nearly indestructible. The hardware is encased in a hard rubberized enclosure that keeps the device safe. The speeds are excellent for the cost as well as my tests gave me sequential read speeds of 253.4MB/s and sequential write speeds of 82.17MB/s. Make sure to use a USB 3 port to get the full speeds. Overall this is a nice little USB thumb drive that provides excellent speeds in an enclosure that will stand the test of time. Recommended.
