I Would Rather Eat the Empty Jar
I bought both the regular peanut spread and the chocolate peanut spread because I was looking for a low-calorie alternative to peanut butter. I love peanut butter, but at 90 to 100 calories per tablespoon, it adds up fast when you're standing in the kitchen at 11:00 PM with a bag of celery sticks, trying to be good, but you've got questionable self-control. When I saw zero calories, my eyes lit up like I'd just discovered warp drive. I thought that even if this tasted somewhat like peanut butter, it would be a game changer. This product does not taste somewhat like peanut butter. It does not taste remotely like peanut butter. It does not taste like peanuts were even allowed in the building during production. In fact, peanuts don't appear anywhere in the ingredient list, which should have been my first clue that I was about to make a terrible life decision. It lists peanut oil down around the 13th ingredient. That's entirely on me. This product has a 1.5-star rating with hundreds of reviews, and I ignored them all because apparently I enjoy learning expensive lessons the hard way. The consistency is not that of a spread. Calling this a spread is like calling a puddle a floor covering. It pours like muddy water and clings like hot glue. I thought maybe the Florida heat had done something to it during shipping, so I put both jars in the refrigerator overnight. That accomplished absolutely nothing. The next morning, they were still as runny as the boogers coming out of a llama's nose. The flavor is somehow salty, sour, bitter, and chemical all at the same time. It tastes like expired milk, motor oil, and regret. The chocolate version adds only the faintest suggestion that someone once drove a candy bar past the factory. Neither product tastes like peanuts, chocolate, or anything that should be consumed by humans or animals. My taste buds immediately filed a formal complaint and requested hazard pay. I genuinely don't know how to dispose of these jars. I don't want to put them in the trash because I wouldn't wish this on a landfill. I don't want to pour them outside because local wildlife has suffered enough. My garbage disposal deserves better than this. If I had access to a rocket, I would launch both jars directly into the sun and consider it a public service. Even though the delta-v is lower if you want to leave the solar system entirely, I wouldn't want some alien civilization finding this and then coming to invade us because of it. Now, if you are one of the rare people who actually enjoys this product, please contact me. I will gladly send you my two nearly full jars and pay the shipping myself just to get them out of my house. Save your money and buy real peanut butter, powdered peanut butter, or simply rinse out an empty peanut butter jar and drink the water. That would be infinitely closer to the taste you were hoping for. One star only because Amazon wouldn't let me give it negative 17.

Nasty!! Don't buy it!!
GROSS!!! This product is just nasty and a total waste of money!! First of all, it has absolutely NO peanut taste! Secondly, it's NOT a spread-- it's basically a liquid! It's thin, runny, and oily-- nothing whipped or spreadable about it. I cannot even describe the taste except to say that it basically tastes like you're eating a non-descript cooking oil with a bitter aftertaste. Save yourself the money and disappointment and DO NOT BUY IT! BTW, I also bought the Chocolate Peanut Spread (again-- liquidy and not a spread, no taste of peanut or chocolate) and the Chocolate Dip, and they were also disgusting! I've wasted my money, but I hope you'll all listen and not waste your own!

Truly disgusting
You know the saying that “there’s no free lunch”? Well, I shouldn’t have been surprised that it applies to this zero calorie whipped peanut spread. It was foolish of me to expect something with no calories to actually taste good or resemble delicious and highly caloric peanut butter. But Walden Farms has a good track record for making delicious products, and some of their zero calorie salad dressings are actually really good, so I thought this was worth a shot. I’m sorry to say that it is absolutely disgusting! It smells awful and has a very runny, watery consistency. It has a mild but putrid slightly sour/slightly sweet taste that does not even remotely resemble peanuts. Do not waste your money on or offend your taste buds with this product!

Do not recommend
I started keto and bought this with high hopes. I don't know if something happened to it through delivery but this was disgusting. Nothing whipped about it. It is watery and slimy with a very unappealing taste. (Zero peanut taste what so ever) I attempted to return it and it is not eligible for return, which frustrated me because I was hoping they would send a new one and it would be better but now I will never know. I will never purchase again. I spent way to much money on this and had very high hopes and it was terrible unfortunately.

Terrible - Walden Farms whipped peanut butter
As Long time diabetic, I am always searching for low carb options that tastes somewhere near regular sugared products. Very few carb reduced products come close to the taste of the regular product. This product was very expensive and I had high hopes for its taste coming near regular jams/jelly. I was willing to pay the premium price if it did. But it did not, both in taste and texture it just plain sucked. It was runny & tasted terrible. It's high price was not reflected in the product. I won't buy this again. To make sure it was not just me, I had someone else taste test it. They gagged.

The absolute worst w/ no flavor or smell. Plan to add PB powder, salt, maybe sweetener
5 STARS! Just kidding!! TOTALLY ONE STAR. But I did 5 because I figured my review will get lost in the nearly 80% 1 star reviews, and I have things to say, and recommendations on how to make it better and/or what to replace it with. buy yeh... GOODGAWD dont buy this. BOO!HISS! 1 star 1 star 1 star The extraordinarily high amount of 1 stars should have the company reevaluate this product. How does anyone LIKE it. Sure, it can (and needs) to be greatly spruced up to make it work, but by then, why bother? I would hate it less if it had even a whisper of peanut butter flavor. I would hate it less if it had even a whisper of ANY flavor. But it doesnt. Not at all... NOT AT ALL. It's gel like. Very smooth. Looks "OK". That's it. No smell, no flavor. Yet it does have carbs (2g). Supposedly has zero net. WELL GUESS WHAT? So does natural zero sugar/sweetener added peanut butter. OK, well, maybe not zero net carbs, but always at least half is fiber. And it tastes good. Any fat is good for body. And cals are something to deal with, but at least it is real food. So many 1 stars.. wow. Why did I buy this then? Because sometimes I want a low cal, low fat day. And I was curious. and apparently stupid. My background: I am already super low carb (10-20 grams TOTAL), with high protein and moderate fat. 1-2 days per week (not every week) I do what is called a "Protein Sparing Modified Fast". (PSMF). I dont want to risk losing muscle on extended fasts, so I do this style. I want to maintain muscle and budge fat, so that means then I am doing very low calorie, very low fat, and still keep carbs very low. Basically a "fast" with some food, which pretty much just leaves me with protein (and just enough fat to not be angry). This allows my body to eat itself, use its own fat as fuel rather than dietary. I dont always want just eggwhites or chicken on my PSMF, so I look for a little variety. JFC.. this is not it. LOL Unless I add in a scoops of peanut butter powder, some salt, and maybe a little monk fruit sweetener. THEN it is really quite fantastic. Like really really good. Water works to make the powder into a paste, but this weird a$$ product is the right texture to make the powder look and feel like peanut butter once the powder is added in. I will say that this the ONLY THING that this product works well for.. is to provide the BASE to your own addition of actual PB. Kinda wonder if PB extract would do the job? Havent tried it yet. I dont intend to toss this directly out, but I WILL NOT buy it again. I dont think. I should have known, because frankly nearly everything from this brand has been lackluster for decades. I always seem to come back around and try things out every years or so. On the plus side, their strawberry syrup isnt abysmal. Still barely any flavor (and still 2 carbs), but it at least has a hint of strawberry flavor and sweetness. I think if you want to skip this, but still need/want low cal low carb option just go with peanut butter powder. Most all are around 50 cals for a serving (down from nearly 200 with regular PB), and the carb to fiber ratio brings the net carb down to nearly nothing anyway. Water will do just fine, but also to fancy it up with a more spreadable vibe, then adding a little beef gelatin can help. But oddly, if PB and water doesnt cut it for you, THEN MAYBE this product used as the base would. Keep in mind this now brings cals and carbs up. I dont rate on price. If this had any flavor, I would have liked it a whole lot more. It's pricy, and sure is a shame that it is something that most everyone dislikes.

So disappointed
Disg! I love Walden Farms, their dressings are amazing! When I found out, they had peanut butter and I can’t find them in stores and I found them on Amazon. I was so excited. When I got it, I opened it and it looked like water. In spite of the water reload, I tried some of it and it tasted bitter and sour just absolutely horrible. I don’t know if it went bad because it was an order. I didn’t get it from the store in person. Or what happens or if it’s just like that. But don’t get it if you like peanut butter, you’ll be very disappointed.

Disgusting
Okay. I’m honest. I was desperate and craving peanut butter on a cut. Even when things are not very tasty, if they are low calorie and even remotely remind me of my craving, I will eat it. I WILL NOT EAT THIS. Do not buy. It is actually disgusting. The consistency is like a liquid syrup and it almost tastes spicy. As if it was a salad dressing with a rancid after taste like p*op. Yeah, if I won’t eat this, you shouldn’t either. Horrible product, waste of money, do not buy.

How could I forget that awful taste? Go for powdered peanut butter instead.
What’s the saying, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me? Well, I had one of the Walden calorie free peanut spreads many years ago, somehow looking back I’d forgotten how inedible it is. Truly, truly inedible. How could I forget the taste?! Vegetable extract with a semi-sweet chemical taste and a texture somewhere between a mouse and a jelly. Memories of trying to freeze it to improve the taste and eating as “ice cream” last time came flooding back. Yet to try that this time, but for now everyone who has tasted it in the household can’t help but pull a face of disgust when it hits their tongue. We thought to use it in cooking, but quite frankly I don’t want to ruin anything else. I mean this is my first negative review on Amazon, so that tells you something... If you crave peanut butter, search on here for the reduced fat peanut butter powders, Amazon have loads of decent brands. You just add water, or mix with fat free yogurt, and it’s generally 80-90% less fat than peanut butter (the fat is removed in the process). Definitely worth the extra calories to have real peanut and, you know, enjoy what you are putting in your mouth.
