Ram Mount RAP2992U Universal Cup Holder Mount with 6-Inch Flex Arm and Diamond Base Adapter (Black)

It fits securely in the cup holder and is steady supporting the iPad holder with the iPad within the holder. It's simple to adjust the iPad using this mount. The only negative is that I wish it had a longer support arm between the base and the iPad holder. Either a longer support piece or even an additional, supplemental part to allow you to make it longer or leave it as is depending upon placement of the cup holder etc. With that exception considered the mount holds the weight of my iPad with case with no problems.

I wanted to put a mount in my car to hold my iPad Mini. I didn't want to attach it to the windshield, and I certainly didn't want to drill holes into anything to install a mount securely.I saw this mount while searching through Amazon, and I thought it was a good idea. RAM is an outstanding manufacturer with great products, so I knew it would be built to last and would do what it should.Here's some of the points about it I really think are done well:1. The cup-holder base is fairly heavy, so it stays in place.2. The flex-arm is flexible, but it's not weak. My iPad Mini stays in place, and it doesn't cause the flex arm to move. In fact, it takes a bit of muscle to position the flex arm in a way that you want, but once you get it there, it stays.3. The flex-arm 15cm/6 inches long, so you can position it in a bunch of different ways, and it's not that far to reach.4.The base has a few rubber "fins" that allow it to fit into a bunch of different size cups so there should be no worries to fit yours.There are a couple of points that a buyer should keep in mind. The photo is not completely accurate. The top of the arm has a 4-hole AMS mount, not the 2-hole that is shown. It is a standard AMS pattern, so it should fit just about anything kind of cradle (for your iPad, iPhone, GPS, Android, whatever) that also has the AMS/VESA standard hole pattern. For example, LifeProof makes cradles for it's waterproof cases that make use of the AMS pattern.Providing the 4 hole version of the AMS pattern is actually better because it gives you more options in mounting a cradle.All in all, this is one great holder for your electronic device.

Worked good until last week (bought May 2012). Plastic top has come off the metal bar. Good thing is, I can pull metal bar out and just attach RAM ball mount to top of can like it was a Model: RAP-299-3U.

Good product, you just need multiple pieces of equipment and hardware to get it usable. I have it set up so that I can mount my smart phone in the car as a GPS. Fits solidly in the drink holder and won't move from there. The arm wobbles a little bit when driving, but isn't overly annoying. Once you get all your equipment, plan on a trip to the hardware store for nuts and bolts to attach your mount, as it doesn't come with anything.

The mount works fine in my Honda Fit. Although the flexible arm is a little short, I'm able to mount my GPS OK around my gear selector by lowering it slightly. In the long run I will most likely purchase a second ball mount to affix to this mount and then another arm to allow me to quickly remove any of my attachable devices. All in all, it works fine my car with my cup holder. I'm happy with it.

Wanted a variety of mounts for ipad...this works, or can be modiified...need a large cupholder...Love the Ram mounts.Thank you.

Aluminium rod broke after a few bends!

Purchased this so I can watch my iPad in the truck while driving. What a great product! Was better than I even thought it would be....drove across the country on a trip using this and WOW what a difference! Product was top quality and the price was the best I have ever seen to date.
