Aunt Lydia Coats Crochet cotton is my go-to for making doilies and lace. The thread is evenly spun, smooth, doesn't split and holds its color. It also doesn't absorb the oils from one's hands as some thread does. It wears well. It's reasonably priced. It comes in a variety of colors, including classics and newer shades. If you want to make lace, you can't go wrong with Aunt Lydia Coats crochet cotton.

Yellow crochet thread
I bought this same crochet thread a while back and loved the color (it was a golden yellow with a bit of a darker tint to it), so I decided to buy the same one again from my purchase history, but when I received it I was dissappinted. The quality of the yarn was the same and it was fine, but the color had changed to a lighter yellow with more of a lemon yellow than a deeper gold yellow, so I was a bit dissapointed. Expecially since the reason I bought it was to finish up a project I started with the previous thread...
