Solid professional looking multi-color pen
This is one of my favorite pens for everyday use. It is solid and professional looking while still giving me multiple ink colors for use in my planner.

Good solid writing instrument
This is a good solid pen that reduces bulk and the number of items I have to keep track of. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is the ink, sometimes it is slow to flow and I have to find a piece of scratch paper to scribble on to start it going again. It fits my hand well, functions well mechanically, looks business like and gives a good appearance at meetings and while working, unlike some of the cheap plastic ones. I do a lot of legal briefs that are color coded. This allows me to work while travelling or at a desk without having to keep track of several different color pens. This is a Feb 2015 update, and I am now giving the pen 5 stars. I fixed the ink problem by switching to Fischer Bullet Pen refills. Sadly they only come in Black, Blue, and Red, but for my work the Green that comes from the mfgr. is good enough. At least for me this is now the perfect writing instrument. Having lasted this long it is obviously stout, especially given the amount of use it gets! pretty good; i don't like the noise or the loose feeling
It feels good in the hand. Looks like it should. I really like the Lamy 2k desgin, despite having zero L2K pens that are unqualified good LOL. I have the fountain pen in EF and it writes a M line. This pen checks a lot of boxes for me but it just doesn't feel as good as I need it to. It's not transparent. I.e. it doesn't become part of my hand. Or it hasn't yet. Pro: four colors. good for literature notes. the Zebra gel D1 refills are pretty nice. Also tried Uni Jetstream in this, which was nice but there is no green. I don't like non-hybrid ballpoint refills I like the form. So tidy. Feels like a workhorse pen that can travel. Doesn't really feel out of place anywhere. Small enough. I can sit in my pocket with a pocket notebook or sit on my desk. Con: the gravity mech is loose by definition. it rattles if I pick up the pen and slap it back down on the page with too much force. THIS IS THE BIG ONE FOR ME: the refill doesn't sit as tight in hole as other pens. At first I thought it was the size of the hole but it's more than that. It just doesn't feel like the refill is one continuous rigid assembly with the body. On cheap multipens, e.g. Pilot hi-tec-c Coleto 1000 (my favorite), the refill locks in TIGHT. There is no play - it's as rigid as writing with a wooden pencil. The Rotring 600 3-in-1 is about halfway between that and this, the Lamy 2000 Multipen The L2K just feels a little wobbly. Not really noticeably. It's more like a creeping sensation that accumulates over a session. And also I notice that my handwriting is less controlled/consistent when I use this pen. Overall I still like the pen. That design really is charming. It's the most beautiful multipen I have - by a mile. And I still like at least the idea of the mechanism.

Great writing instrument
First intuitive multi pen I ever had. Ink flows well, very comfortable in my hand. Love writing with it. Definitely is exactly what I needed. Shipping was faster than anticipated from Japan. The tracking was messed up, but that is minor based on its origin. Tracking showed it was in CA and being delivered in CA, except I'm in VA... The item got to where it was supposed to be. All good! Worth it for sure!

Lamy Four Color Pen - Five Stars!
I’m an adjunct instructor at a local university and have been using this four color pen since I. Ought it new here in February 2019. I use it everyday. I typically teach three classes per spring and fall semesters, and one class in the summer semester. Sometimes they are three different courses and sometimes two are the same. I had been using four Lamy Safari fountain pens with different color inks, one for each class I’m teaching when writing notes in my planner. I bought this particular pen so I could do the same with just one pen. For example, blue for my online class, green for the hybrid class, and red for the class that is fully classroom. I use the black color for non-school notes or personal to do’s. Bought refills for all four colors but have yet to replace any of the originals that came with the pen. Writes extremely smooth. Good heft to it. Just bought a second one for my wife. After two years of daily use I cannot find one thing that I don’t like about this pen. Everyone has different tastes, this one suits me just fine. Highly recommended.

Great utility but has a downside
Overall this is a great pen. I’m a law student who prefers to take handwritten notes so it’s important for me to have the ability to have my own weird and sometimes indecipherable color coding system even if I do just end up using a single color at the end. Overall this is a great pen. It took me a bit to figure out how to actually switch the colors though but that’s not a big deal (it’s by gravity, with whichever color being on top of the button being the one that it switches to on the press). Only two concerns: First, it doesn’t write super smoothly. You do have to press a little harder for the pen to write. You don’t have to press really hard, just harder than you normally would. After writing with it for a few months, I’ve either grown accustomed to it or it smoothened out. This really isn’t a problem at the end of the day. The button gets a little scratchy and squeaky when you press it. This is my biggest concern and even still it’s pretty minor. Just don’t expect it to have that nice “click” sound and feel you’d expect from other companies like Parker. It’s pretty squeaky and feels like the cap is scratching the tube of the pen. Also do note that if you’re trying to change colors in a hurry, this is probably not the right pen. The dollar Bic pens are way faster in switching colors than this because with this you have to press the desired color, press the color back in, rotate the pen to your next desired color, press the pen again. And even then, the system is a bit finicky so you will have to play with and get used to it. In short, great pen. Has some minor inconveniences but has a super sleek look and feel and is sure to last a long time.

Best multi pen, few flaws.
I've purchased many multi pens in search of the ultimate pen. This one is as good as it gets. Pros: Brushed stainless steel accents (no coating to chip off) Gravity selection mechanism tough Fiberglass body writes beautifully comfortable to hold Cons: Would be better in all stainless steel clip has a bit of wiggle to it. Not enough to cause problems, but noticeable. No pencil! Action is not smooth or satisfying. Feel kind of like cutting paper with cheap scissors. In conclusion, I consider this to be better than the rotring 4 in 1, the lamy ST tri pen, the Skilcraft B3 aviator, the cross tech4, and many others
