Video quality was never as high as plugged directly into the laptop, but this was use for a work-provided laptop Precision 7350 where it wasn't a need anymore (I used to do 3D modeling as a side task). I just wanted a Thunderbolt 3 capable of charging the laptop so I could have a real solution where I only needed to unplug one cord. What's the point of a dock that still needs a separate power cord for your laptop?? First the USB ports stopped working, which I thought I had fixed with a firmware update two days ago. This morning my laptop was dead because it had stopped charging, which had never been an issue. Even after plugging in the cord for the laptop and recharging, the dock was gone. This is the second Dell dock (first was TB18DC) I've had, but at least the first one gave me just over a year (admittedly with lighter use). At least my company covered the cost both times.
