These are my favorite kitchen shears I’ve owned so far. They are comfortable to hold, easy to use, and feel sturdy during heavier kitchen prep tasks. One feature I really appreciate is that the blades separate easily for cleaning, which makes it much easier to fully wash and dry them after use. I’ve also been happy that they have not shown signs of rusting with regular kitchen use and washing. The real test in our household was using them to spatchcock a whole chicken, and they handled it very well without struggling or feeling flimsy. The blades stayed sharp and cut cleanly through tougher areas. I included photos of the shears both separated and assembled so others can better see how they come apart for cleaning and how they look during normal use.

I wrote in another review that every kitchen can use a 3-set shear size. 1. A heavy poultry shears for whole chickens, game birds, etc. 2. A mid range shears for general use, opening food packages, cutting bacon sliced meats. 3. A fine set for cutting shallot stalks, parsley, etc.. Thes shears fit the bill perfectly for the Number 3 option. we grow our own shallots and basil, and these are perfect for things like that where a heavier shears are overkill. We wanted them to be take apart for easy cleaning and no funk and rust in the joint. We wanted them to be sharp. We preferred solid metal handles that were not constructed of plastic. We wanted a reasobnable price range as these would be used the least of our 3 shears. The only compromise we made was that these are not solid metal handles, but that shouldn't be an issue as these are for light duty only as mentioned above. If you are buying these for tougher meat processing, you may want to look elsewhere. For us, these are for fine use only.

These are outstanding kitchen scissors. Very sharp out of the box, cut cleanly through herbs, packaging, poultry, and tougher kitchen tasks without effort. The take-apart design makes them easy to clean thoroughly, which is a big plus. They feel solid, balanced, and comfortable in hand, not flimsy like cheaper shears. Exactly what you expect from Messermeister. Highly recommended if you want one pair that actually lasts.

A very sturdy, well made tool which cuts well, even through thicker surfaces. The take-apart feature and the misc. additional tool s engineered into the body of the scissors are nice add on features. Craftsmanship seems very good. However, for people with large hands, like mine, the grips are undersized and can make using this tool uncomfortable, especially if you are doing a job requiring use over an extended period. Otherwise, would be rate 5 stars. My wife (average hand size) loves it!

These scissors have extreme durability because they’re made of stainless steel & are very thick making them very difficult to bend. I was surprised at the price, they’re a great value for the money. The size of these is great because they can fit in a cooking/ serving utensil drawer or receptacle. They can also be put on a magnetic bar or strip to hang on the side of a microwave. The sharpness of these is very useful because of being able to open just about any food package & cut bones, cartilage, wire, cardboard, etc. The functionality of these is outstanding & that’s why it’s great to have a multi tool in the kitchen because it’s a single item that does various different things not just in the kitchen but throughout the house.

I purchased these from Amazon in 2012. They are HEAVILY used - as in almost every single day. They come apart very easily and we put them in the dishwasher probably 2-3 times a week. I felt compelled to write a review because I am VERY happy with these and looking for another pair for my work, I looked back at my account history and found I purchased them in 2012. They work as well 7 years later as they did the first time I used them. I would certainly not hesitate to get another pair of these. Very very happy customer. **** UPDATE **** 8 YEARS IN Still my go-to, absolute favorite pair of scissors! I like them so much, I decided to update the review. They have outlasted ANY I have used before. **** UPDATE - 10 YEARS IN ***** STILL GOING STRONG! Best scissors I've ever bought. Used almost every single day. Very very happy with these scissors. **** UPDATE - 12 YEARS IN ***** Every time I look at this in my kitchen around the end of the year, it reminds me of this review. Still used almost every single day, maybe a little bit duller than new, but 100% functional. Placed in the dishwasher several times a week. Love these things.

I like that it breaks apart to wash both parts of the blade, but I can actually get the scissors open wide enough such that they start to come apart and "lock" up the blades. I then have to realign them before I can close them again to cut. Yes, I have to open my wide to do this, but it DOES happen and i feel like it could have been engineered to unlock at just a few degrees more to avoid this entirely. Other than that though, they're very nice.

My favourite kitchen scissors with multiple uses. You can use these to open bottles, crack nuts, open shellfish. They come apart really easy to clean after cutting raw meat and makes them easy to sharpen on wet stones too. Good value for money and they'll last a lifetime

The scissors seem to be fine but the packaging is not okay. It uses way too much plastic: a hard transparent plastic package wrapped in a plastic bag.

Sharp. Comes apart easily to clean. Very good to have as a tool stored with the knives. Useful when cutting smaller things (herbs, etc.). Just remember to tighten the holding screw so it doesn't fall apart during use.
