Well, I normally don't do many reviews on products but after almost 2 years with this trimmer, I wanted to give everyone an update. First off, I use it probably at least three to four times a week to trim my goatee and sideburns, and every once in a while my eyebrows. I truly believe I've only had to charge it five or six times in the last year. The battery life is incredible on this thing. Secondly, it's still sharp and feels just as good as it did on the first day. No issues whatsoever with anything. I was initially worried that it wasn't waterproof and I couldn't rinse it off, but it's so easy just to use my little brush to get hairs out of it and then just a damp cloth to wipe it down will clean it up perfectly. You really cannot go wrong with this trimmer. I recommend it highly. I wanted to update my previous review. After a few months of use, I'm getting a much better idea of this trimmer. First off, the quality is very very good. The switch feels good, it fits in your hand and the adjustment knob feels tight after much use. This trimmer replaced a couple of difference name brand models I had and I can say that this one seems built much better. Seconds, the battery life is incredible. I have gone well over a month before I need to charge and I use it pretty much everyday. Cannot complain about that at all. It's very sharp still and when you set the level it is even all the way around when you trim your beard. I was worried at first about the blade guard but the more I use it some more I'm happy with it. I do wish it was waterproof but it is pretty simple to clean. What I recommend this? Heck yes. And for the price you cannot beat it. if they offer other products with the same quality that this trimmer has, I will be purchasing from them again.

When I needed a new beard trimmer the most important feature for me was an easily adjustable blade length . The Serpent trimmer was one of the few that had that feature and at a very reasonable price. After using the Serpent for a month now it is all that I hoped it would be and more. The battery charges quickly and is still holding the initial charge. The beard length adjustment has almost an infanite number of settings and is easy to operate. I must advise buyers that you must follow the instructions precisely to remove the plastic comb over the blades. You must turn the adjustment knob all the way up to number 10 before trying to remove or reinstall the plastic cone otherwise it requires alot of pressure to seat it which could cause it to crack. This happened to me, I followed up with the Serpent Service Team and they have been excellent to work with, very eager to replace the cracked comb and quickly. If you follow the instructions this will not happen to you. I am very pleased with this machine, in the quality and operation at a very reasonable price. The customer service is also quite extraordinary, these are the reasons I would not hesitate to purchase this device in the future

1/20/2021 Update I'm adjusting my review because I've had more time to use it now. Overall except for the below minor issue it's a great trimmer! The battery lasts a long time between charges and it's nice to clean and maintain and I like that it only has the one guide attachment. Still docking it one star because it doesn't show a charging indicator while charging or let me know when it's done charging, but doesn't seem to effect the ability of it taking a charge. You probably won't have this problem as the seller has contacted me to let me know that they've addressed some manufacturing issues from the past. 6/17/2020 Original Review I like the design, it's quiet and easy to clean. I've only used it once, but wonder how many more uses I'll get out of it before the battery is dead since I can't charge it. At least I believe it's not charging because according to the manual I should see the red light indicating that it's charging and it does not light up. I either have a bad unit or the cable is bad because I confirmed the power brick I'm plugging their USB cable into is good with another device and even tried multiple power bricks. The green indicator does come on during use so at least I know the LEDs should be working.

I Know the trimmer is old news, but this is a great trimmer. I've used it weekly for 4 years for my beard. Never oiled it. Never changed the blades. Battery lasts forever, I feel like I charge the thing 4-6x per year. For 3 of the past 4 years I trimmed my beard short a few times a week, used it on my chest and back in the summer months, etc. I keep looking for new ones only because the technology is old but I haven't bought a new one yet, because this thing never quits. Ive been using beard trimmers for 20+ years and this has lasted longer than the others and I think it was about $20 new.

This trimmer is reliable, versatile, and inexpensive. It trims beards and hair with ease due to its adjustable settings. It's light and easy to carry around, and the charge via USB-C happens really fast. it also holds that charge pretty well after a while. Cleaning is doable but not exactly the easiest. It is quiet, never overheats, and feels comfortable in my hand. This trimmer is perfect for both home use and traveling. I would say a good product in this price.

Everyone's needs for a beard trimmer are different but I'll tell you from my perspective. I'm Mexican with straight beard hair. I don't really use the attachments. I use it to bring my beard down to a 5 o clock shadow every few days. The stubble stubble is very short and comparable to most clipper-style trimmers. This does not get down to the skin like a foil shaver obviously. These trimmers could be used in a pinch to get the neckline or small patches on a caucasian head, but aren't powerful enough for a legitimate haircut. The trimmers are lightweight and feel good in hand. And clean off easy enough. The blade pops right off for internal cleaning. It's been about 6 months and the battery holds a good charge. I haven't timed it exactly, but the charge reading appears accurate, unlike some trimmers I've had where it drops from 50% to 0 within one shave. For the price, this is a good one. Surprent is not a mainstream player like Norelco or Braun, but I also have their hair trimmers which have treated me well, so I trust this brand

ok trimmer. bought this august 2019. the plastic guard is junk. after 2 uses. i trim my beard once a week. the guard cracked. i glued it and it lasted about 2 more uses and cracked again. now one of the tines have broken off. i use 1 time per week and store it in a hygiene bag in a drawer so i’m not sure how it broke. went to amazon to buy a new guard. they sell the replacement guard. hmm probably because it’s junk. the last trimmer i had lasted 10 years no problems WAHL. going to go back to a WAHL. pure junk guard. update: was contacted by email from a SUPRENT rep Message from seller SUPRENT: Dear james, Thanks for your response and support on us. SUPRENT Support Team i told them i didn’t want a replacement just reimburse me and i’ll send the trimmer to them. they said no keep it we will reimburse you for all you have paid for and your shipping and you can keep the trimmer. i agreed. it’s now 1/21/2020 and i haven’t received my reimbursement. tonight i get another email identical to the first email. at this point i’m done, stay away from this product and company. this trimmer is junk and they’ve waisted my time and haven’t delivered the compensation for their poor product. they have no idea what good customer service is.

Removing either of the guides requires a lot of force, and I am worried that I am going to break the plastic every time that I pull one off. Putting a guide back on is easy, and it snaps into place with relatively minimal effort. The blades are nice and sharp, and the top one is removable (with a torx driver) for thorough cleaning. Also, the casing comes apart (with a phillips driver) so that the internals can potentially be repaired if they ever break, or if the battery ever needs to be replaced. The battery arrived with an 80% charge on it, which just seems dangerous for the mail carrier. Rechargeable batteries are usually shipped with a minimal charge of ~20% because of potential fire hazards.

Very versatile and single charge runs it for a long time. Less noise than Braun etc. I always use it dry.
