Honesty is the best policy
I went through a lot of "which one do I get?' They all start to look the same. I needed to buy 2 so that I had a traditional salt-n-pepper and the other for gourmet salt-n-pepper. The size was also a concern because they all seemed so large. I'm glad that they are because they stand tall amongst the olive oils and hot sauces next to the stove. I got different ones for the table that were smaller. The stainless steel look is quite nice. There are people that don't like that the lid is always on, like my wife did. If you don't mind the mess, then that's the way to go. If I remember correctly there are reviews that mention the lids being tight. I didn't experience that. After we had them loaded and used them a few times she started to really like the lids. They balance nicely and the twister you use to set your grind is also quite nice and easy. It take a little playing around to figure the size of the ground you like. The acrylic isn't my favorite as I originally wanted glass but that didn't seem to be a common option and has grown on me, not to mention if they drop there won't be any broken glass. It looks nice and does the job. My only nit-picky complaint is that when you fill them up all the way then flip it over the chamber isn't completely full. However, I imagine that is a common problem. Having said that I would definitely purchase these again.

A Bad Buy
Someone wrote, "Think twice before you buy this item" Good advice, because for myself it was a total waste of money,. I live in a tropical area where the humidity quite often exceeds 80%. The Ancient became decrepit in a very short time, not only would it not grind salt crystals, the outer steel casing is so thin that it split in two places. I should have spent a little more money and bought a functional product instead of a gimmicky eye catching cheaply made product.

Starting to corrode on the salt side ....but Continues to work great
Update: I am one year in and starting to see rust and corrosion on the salt side. That has forced me to reduce my rating from 5/stars to 3 stars. Original review: Shipped quickly. I put it together yesterday and used it. So far so good. The different courses work and it looks good. I am 9 months in and still using the product. Th finish still looks like it is brand new and everything works just like it did out of the box. It is a great product.

CLOSEST TO PERFECT
I have been using this salt and pepper grinder The Ancient Salt and Pepper Grinder Set - Professional Two in One Stainless Steel Mill - Grind from Coarse to Fine in 2 Seconds on a daily basis since I received it several weeks ago and I could not be more pleased. I like that it contains both the salt and pepper but of course you could put different types of salts on each side or pepper. Whatever you choose. What I like about it most, which quite a few grinders don't seem to be able to do, is that you can go from a fine grind to a large grind quickly. There's not of residual in between for some reason. The grinding mechanism turns very easily even with Himalayan sea salt, which is always damp. It grinds it to perfection. The worst you have to do is tap it down, the wet salt that is, to get it to the grinder. With my other grinders, no matter how much you tried to shake the residual off after grinding, they always left traces of salt or pepper. This one is really nice in that both sides have covers so no more waste or aggravating residuals to wipe up. I plan on ordering another because I am so pleased. I have many different salts and peppers and each impart a different taste.

This makes it not as easy to quickly grab and use
The grinder works well enough. You have to remove flat caps on either end every time you want to use it. This makes it not as easy to quickly grab and use.

What I expected
So far so good. This is a relativity inexpensive product so my expectations are not high. It took me a while to get my pepper side to grind to my satisfaction but I did eventually get there. I'm not sure how long I will be using the caps on the ends but they do finish off the product. For the price i am very happy but I've had the grinder for less than a month.

Quality Salt and Pepper Grinder
This is a very popular salt and pepper grinder design. I have used other similar ones and have found this particular one to be the best. — STAINLESS STEEL — Why is this one better? Because the stainless steel is of better quality. On other brands, I would touch it with wet hands and it showed rust overnight—not cool. This one has quality steel and no matter how wet my hands are, it dries without any issues, and looks like the day I bought it. — GRINDING — If you open each end, there is a circular white ceramic piece that you can rotate to adjust the size of your grinds. I left mine alone as it comes out fine for me. My advice is to find a setting you like and stick with it; you don't want to constantly adjust and potentially break it. You're still getting freshly ground salt and pepper no matter what size the grinds are. I fill mine with Himalayan Crystal Salt - Dark Pink and Peppercorn - Black Tellicherry [see photo]. Filling it with pink salt and peppercorns make it look futuristic. — SUMMARY — This is a quality grinder. There is no branding on it so it will look nice in any kitchen. Recommended.
