Like many people, my ARC plug would work fine for a day or so and then suddenly stop working. I tried different cables, I went through live support several times, went through every possible setting to allow proper arc output, was constantly hard resetting both TV and sound system to no avail. I gave up eventually after fearing I was going to have a coronary or set the entire system on fire and laugh as it burned. I hooked the system up with an optical cable instead. Works great, all the time. Coronary and conflagration averted. Moral of the story: ARC tech is not up to snuff. It might work for some people, but I am not one of those people.
