The lid closes just fine if you aren't using filter paper which you dont need to with these. Even with the filter u just have to press to close the lid a little harder and make sure it's snug. Very little coffee grains get thru, really barely noticeable without using paper filter. Fit my small keurig k cup single cup maker well. I love purple so they look great to me and fit in my kcup storage drawers - not side by side but they fit fine. Easy insertion and removal from the coffee maker and easy to fill and dispose of grounds as well. I normally rinse in the sink and hand wash because they are so small but I'm sure they could go top rack of dishwasher as well.
