Manduka Prolite Yoga and Pilates Mat

After reading a lot about yoga mats, I zeroed in on this and I am not disappointed. In fact, I am very happy that I got this.

Manduka speaks for itself so there is no need to worry about the quality of the product. For a person who is investing in a mat long term, this mat is a good purchase. The purple colour looks better in the product than shown in the image. But being charged twice the cost of the mat for 'shipping charges' to india is absolutely ridiculous!

After reading previous customer reviews on Manduka Mats, I was concerned about the smell and the stickiness of the mat. The mat I purchased did have a strong smell that completely went away after a few days and I have had no problems with slippage on the mat. One thing that I didn't expect is that some nagging injuries that I have would dissipate shortly after I started using this mat! It is a little thicker and more shock absorbent than my old mat and it's doing wonders for my 40 plus year old joints. The only con is that it is slightly heavier than ordinary mat at 4 plus pounds.

After shredding 2 cheaper mats in the past 12 months, I decided to treat myself to a more expensive one in the hope that it would last. After some research, I decided to plummet for a Manduka mat as I already have the super lite version which I take on my travels and have been really pleased with that one. Only used this one once so far but totally in love with my new mat. I use it for yoga and home workouts and even on it's first use found it to be super 'grippy' even wearing socks. It is cushioned enough to protect my bones and joints from the hard kitchen floor yet firm enough to maintain poses. Great choice of colours available to suit all tastes as as it comes with a lifetime guarantee in the long term it will save me having to buy a new one every 6 months - not to mention saving the environment. No more sweeping up mat crumbs from the floor after each workout! I am a very happy with the quality of mats from Manduka and would definatley recommend. Delivery as per usual from Amazon supplier was superb.
