Review: Infamous - great purchase - This is an A+ title from the PS3 if you enjoy the sandbox/open world game genre. Here is a quick breakdown: Story: The story in this game is solid after playing one playthrough on good. I still have yet to play on 'evil', however the ending/storyline is well worth the effort. By that I mean it is a great payoff without giving anything away. It drags at points, as some of the main story missions do not advance the story more than a little bit at a time but with that being said it must be noted that this is par for the course for a sandbox game. The delivery of the story is very effective in my opinion, as they rely on a graphic novel/comic type delivery with stills and wonderful color delivery in this manner. The ending alone has made me want to play through the game again to see another ending/storyline unfold. If story is your thing in a game, this game is above average in this capacity, short of great. Graphics: Very well done as the game is broken up into 3 'city portions' and is basically a nuclear-waste looking city. The atmosphere by the graphics are well done, however it suffers with a drab looking palate most of the time relying on greys/browns and mostly dark cool and warm colors but nothing flashy. This is the mood they wanted to go for no doubt, but it does become a bit repetitive. The character models suffer from a blocky look aside from the main character but given the capacity of this game, as are with most sandbox games, this is excusable in my opinion and is not why I play sandbox games. If you get hung up on character models, this might be a problem for you. As stated before, the cutscenes are delivered through a comic/graphic style that fits the game perfectly. The reason for this is because it suits the drab/dark mood of the game well. What is nice about many of these scenes is that they do utilize flashy colors at times which helps these scenes stand out apart from the game. Sound: The techno-type beats during missions and fights are well done and not intrusive. Not much during the game in terms of "theme" or 'mood' music as there are in other games, but, again, this quite par for the course in sandbox games. Not a problem. The sound effects are great with your powers of electricity. Gameplay: This is where the game shines, as it is more than fun to jump around throughout the city, scaling walls, sliding on tracks (train and telephone lines) and the progression of the powers you get as you progress is wonderful. They allow you to travel the city portions faster as your progress and are actually very fun throughout the game, though you will backtrack throughout the city much (especially if you are collecting the shards and other stuff). The powers are very fun to use as well. While you have one type of power/weapon, this is also the 'hook' in the game. The lightning powers you utilize are varied and fun to use. The enemies do get much more difficult as the game progresses (on hard anyway) and the power ups you recieve accordingly (both spending points on and normal game progression power ups) make the reptitive fights very fun. By repetitive fights I mean the enemies follow the pattern of "fight here, move to another point in the city and encounter more fights". This is just fine and this is contrasted to one of my big gripes with GTA 4, for example. There is not enough city-wide fighting in between missions in GTA lest you provoke fights with cops. There is not enough "territorial" type attacking going on against your character in GTA - on the contrary, this game has plenty of this and makes the player want to progress their character to have more powers to handle this. This is certainly not an exhaustive review, as there is much more to mention, from choices your make and the karma-path mechanic. This is a gem of a game if you are into the sandbox genre, if you like action and a gratifying play-control mechanic that is plain fun to scour the city. 9.5/10
Review: Finally a Reason to Own a PS3 - Until recently I had not found a reason to own a PS3 other than the fact that it was a gaming system that doubled as a Blue-ray player, which at the time was still one of the cheapest. There have been countless game titles that have been available on both consoles, but in my experience I have found the frame rates and as a result the graphics to be slightly superior on the XBOX360 (even if it sounds like a plane taking off). Infamous is the first game, in the genres I enjoy (sandbox, sports and third person action), which has affirmed my reasons for purchasing a PS3 as a video game console. This game is simply stunning from a visual perspective and should be high on the list of Game of Year candidates. I won't get into the storyline too much, but basically you are a courier who delivers and opens a package that explodes. When you wake up the city is in ruins and you discover you now posses special electrical powers. As the game progresses you learn more about why this happened and other ways to take advantage of your new found abilities. Here's what I like/dislike about the game. ========= LIKES ========= * Variety of missions is great in the game, including side missions. Although the goal in some of the missions is the same (e.g. Guard the Dogs) I feel like I've never really completed the same mission twice. The environment and character AI is different enough where I feel like it's a new experience. * Ability to climb anything, which reminds me of Assassin's Creed . * Load times or lack thereof. The only time I've seen a loading screen is when you first start or resume a game. Other than that, I've seen no loading screens for missions, areas, etc. The fluidity is simply amazing. * The environment in combination with your ability to scale almost anything creates an amazing visual display. When I climb some of the structures in the game and rotate the camera you really do get a sense of height, which is one of the first times I've experienced that in a game to this magnitude. * The powers/abilities you have progress at an even pace throughout the game and they actual bring the story line together. At first glance you may think great I can shoot electricity, but what else. The creators of the game did a really great job taking electric-specific powers to another level. Gotta love sliding/grinding on an electric line and then use the electric hover ability to gradually land onto another building. Amazing! * Great storyline. The story unfolds like a great mystery novel. You know just as much as your character and new twists are always right around the corner. * Incremental save points in missions. I hate playing a game where you get through a mission and you die very close to the end only to find out you have to start over again. I love how in this game you start off at the last milestone within the mission. * Replay factor. With the ability to be both virtuous and evil, you can easily extend the life of the game. I won't ruin the story for you, but it's worth playing through both campaigns as your actions will impact the final storyline. ========= DISLIKES ========= * Targeting system. I just wish the game had an auto-locking targeting system to fight enemies, but this is really scraping the bottom the barrel, since I didn't enjoy the game any less. So, in summary if you like open world/sandbox games and you enjoyed games like Assassin's Creed, this title is a must own. If you enjoy action games and especially third-party action games, this is also a "no brainer." Overall: A

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this game kid friendly (10 year)?**
A: Walter.. in my opinion , no its not. Its a dark tone to the game much like Batman type stuff. Most would say yes but I am a parent of two daughters under age of 10 and I never played it around them. It's your choice. The 2nd infamous has better gameplay and graphics but it also has mutant people and mutant creatures like gigantic insects. I'm an adult and it grossed me out a little. Hope this helps you.

**Q: the game comes in the Spanish language?**
A: Of course

**Q: the cover art looks odd, does this come with the standard US rating and cover art?**
A: This cover looks fine to me. It's rated Teen in America, though. I'd buy it again even though it doesn't have the US cover. It's a great game!

**Q: Ps4can you play the ps3 infamous games on ps4**
A: No, unfortunately not.
