FolkArt Color Shift Acrylic Paint, 2 Ounce, Dragon Flash 2 Fl Oz

The Blue Flash color is great! Really strong purple tones. I swatched it on a plastic surface (the project I was doing required a bowl to be painted) and it was tough to paint without brush lines/being very translucent. Even with a black base . I used a kabuki brush, makeup brushes, and good quality paint brushes. But due to the “shifting” properties it was tough to get something without brush lines. It’s translucent for the first 5 or so coats. Even on canvas. But does look great when you figure out how you’d like to use it. The top right corner where it appears to be a beautiful purple- is when I just poured it on and moved it around, allowing it to “glob” on. Do not think that this is an opaque paint, it’s rather see-thru but overall great! Will be buying again! I also purchased the Blue Violet flash and it has VERY strong gold undertones. So that one is more of a gold flash

This is such an amazing color. It’s been a favorite color since childhood when I used to steal all the periwinkle crayons. But this paint is extra special with the color-changing factor. It made a special little magic potion for me. I love it.

Picked this up for a small sci-fi prop accent piece after getting tired of flat acrylics that look dead under overhead room lighting. The formulation goes on smooth without clumping, and the color-shift effect actually reads cleanly under desk lamps as you tilt the surface. Dries to a clean high-gloss finish that doesn't feel tacky after curing. Like most translucent metallic shift paints, it takes two light coats over a dark or matching base primer to really pop; brush strokes disappear nicely as it self-levels during drying. Cleanup is standard soap and water before it skins over. Minor nitpicks: bottle nozzle can crust up if you don't wipe the tip immediately, and single coats over bare white plastic look streaky. If you want a cheap way to add iridescent highlights to miniatures, cosplay props, or small DIY decor accents, it punches above standard craft paint. 4.5/5.

it is a very pretty paint, *very* shiny and certainly has its uses - just be aware that it's best used if you want something to brightly shine a pyrite-like color with a hint of purple, not if you want it to shift between purple and blue. been toying with it for a week and have yet to find a texture type or number of coats that will make it shift purple and blue. that said if you have any small objects you're constantly misplacing, or need to label something that's too dark to legibly sharpie on(black plant pots come to mind), it is great for making things stand out and look nice while doing it. it is a good paint, it's just not labeled accurately and unfortunately people who are actually looking for something like pyrite-purple are probably passing it by thinking it's something else.

Ran our and Walmart does not carry anymore. Color is great and cheaper than Walmart's price on their paints.
