We haven't tested it for any longer though. Love the can lids though. **Q: Do these fit 7.5 oz can?** A: Sorry, not sure of the 7.5 size. Perfect on the 12 oz soda cans. Work great as I sip on 1 soda all day. The soda doesn't go flat. **Q: If I put one on an open can of soda, then put the can in my backpack, will it leak everywhere?** A: It does seal pretty good. But there are those imperfections or dents in the soda cans that allow it to leak. I would not recommend using this in a backpack. You will have a mess. This brand doesn't give a hard click when the cap is in place like my others do/did, so although I have NOT had any problem (like leaks or the caps popping off), I'm a bit nervous. I would have preferred a hard click. But again, they work.
