I've had this mic for three months now and I enjoy it so much that I want to give it a proper review for those who are looking for an external usb-c mic. I have a Pixel 2XL and this thing works perfectly with the phone. The built in mic on the pixel is pretty good but with this mic plugged in, you can hear a distinct difference - louder and clearer, especially as the source of sound become more and more distant. Setup literally is plug and play just like any other mic. Some people complain that they need to take off their case to use this mic and gave it a 1 star. Hilarious. Rate on the performance of the mic, not that you have to take off your case while using it. I got a slim fitting case for the phone and it fits perfectly fine. You can't be using thick cases for this mic. Overall, great clear sounds, ease of use and small enough to put in any pockets or purse. Enough for a 5 star.

I purchase this mic to solve a problem (I'll explain below), which it does beautifully. However, there are some things you will want to be aware of. First, I was looking for a mic that I could easily change the direction of the mic for video - to either capture my voice clearly when speaking for video or to capture the sound of the environment when pointed away. It does this very well and the sound quality is excellent. Also, the build quality seems pretty good. It might be plastic (hard to tell!), but it looks & feels like metal to me. It's important to note, however, that depending on the thickness of your phone case, you may need to remove it before plugging in this mic. It fits my Pixel XL with that case, but does not fit my OnePlus 6t with a moment case on it. Also, this mic will not work with the default camera app on OnePlus devices. You'll need to use Open Camera. It does, however, work perfectly with the default camera app on Pixel devices. All in all, it solved my problem.

The microphone adds a buzzing sound intermittently to video I shoot with my Pixel 3aXL. It seems like it would be a good microphone if not for that. EDIT: Changing the rating to 3 stars because the manufacturer tole me that I should turn off the phone's radios (airplane mode), and that would stop the buzzing, which it did.

I FB livestream our church service every Sunday and with just using the phone mic, there was a lot of other noise present in the audio. I purchased this mic and it is as simple as plugging it in and allowing it to do it's job. The audio is much clearer and louder and the background noise is very low, making this microphone ideal for my purpose.

The product worked well the first three days. After that time, static began and ended up being far too loud for its intended purpose.

Works great! The microphone works great and records nicely. I love how you can move the mic to help target the sound you want to record. The only critique is that you cannot hear yourself in the audio as you record, which could just be my phone is weird.

I was really hoping this would be the solution to low audio on my videos on the Pixel 3. The first problem is it won't mount without taking off your case. For those of us who film outside 99% of the time, often in rocky terrain, this was an immediate problem. But then once I did get it to working, the sound I got really wasn't that much better, honestly, than the sound from the internal mic. Compound that with you have to use a earbuds or pull the mic out every time you want to hear the audio from your phone and that was too many negatives for me. I could see that wear and tear on the USB-C ending badly. I regrettably returned the microphone.

Compact and easy to use

Very good little product. The mic feels very high quality. This product can be equipped with a TYPE-C interface smartphone for audio recording. This is a very good omnidirectional mic for any device with an Aux or headphones. It really improves the sound. It has a windshield and it protects the audio picks up quite a lot of windy noise. You can change the angle to 180-degree rotation. I would recommend it.

Dieses Mikrofon-Set für mein Huawei P30 (Android) wurde gut verpackt geliefert. Mein erster Eindruck war echt gut. Ob dieses Mikro auch mit anderen Android Smartphones kompatibel ist, kann ich leider nicht beurteilen, da ich es mit meinem P30 ausprobiert hatte. Aber laut Beschreibung ist dieses Mikro für Android Smartphones mit Typ-C Schnittstelle. Die Verarbeitung ist ausgesprochen gut und es sitzt perfekt am P30, obwohl ich ein dünnes Hardcase dran habe. Es wird auch sofort als Mikrofon erkannt, denn die grüne LED zeigt die Bereitschaft an, sodass ich die ersten Videoaufnahmen damit machen konnte. Hier war wichtig für mich, dass ich es wie ein Richtmikrofon einsetzen kann, was auch tatsächlich funktionierte. Das bedeutet, dass die Ausrichtung den Vorteil dafür bringt, die Zielgeräusche aufzunehmen und die Hintergrundgeräusche dabei zu reduzieren. Es ist dabei möglich, einen Kopfhörer seitlich am Mikro (3,5mm) anzuschließen, was aber nicht bei allen Android Geräten funktioniert (laut Hersteller), um die Audio-Aufnahme zu hören. Der Vorteil ist ein besserer Klangqualitätseffekt. Das Mikro ist 180° schenkbar. Mit der Mute-Taste kann ich das Mikro stummschalten. Alles in allem hat mich dieses Mikro CVM-VS09 von Comica überzeugt und ich bin damit sehr zufrieden. Vielen Dank, dass Sie sich die Zeit genommen haben meine Rezension zu lesen. Wow, was this a disappointment. Recording with the iPad, this mic is quieter and less clear than the internal iPad mics. I sent a sample to a friend and he said he could barely understand me. I don’t understand what the point of this is. Why would you ever use this if it does not improve on an iPad Pro internal microphone? Sitting 2 feet away from my iPad I did two side-by-side recordings. First with the comica Mic and then using the internal iPad Mics. The comica recording was much quieter and less clear. They should change the name to ‘comical’. Can’t believe this costs $85.
