Capezio's Juliet ballet shoe is top notch when it comes to a breathable, comfortable feel. The canvas ballet slipper features pre-attached elastic at the heel for a custom fit, suede sole patches that glide delicately, a moisture-absorbent lining, and a sculpted, seamless arch that molds to the perfect fit. Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance. Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide. Review: Great ballet slippers - These are great ballet shoes. Not sure why the photo has the elastic not sewn. the Elastic is already attached. My daughter loves these shoes, they accentuate her arch and she feels very comfortable in them. She can go 3-4 hours in a master class and they are not tight. The sizing is a bit confusing. We did go to Capezio store to try her very first pair on ages ago and ever since then I just get half a size up when her foot grows. Her regular size is 5 and I had to get these in size 6.5M. so its 1.5 size up for her. She's been wearing this particular shoe for 2.5 years already, they are great! Review: Gone are the days when you have to go to the dance store! - So happy I was able to find good quality capezios on desertcart!!! Gone are the days when you have to go to the dance store to get shoes. Just like the ones from when I was a young dancer. Only thing is these run super small, I usually wear a 6.5-7 and had to buy a size 8.

Gone are the days when you have to go to the dance store!
So happy I was able to find good quality capezios on Amazon!!! Gone are the days when you have to go to the dance store to get shoes. Just like the ones from when I was a young dancer. Only thing is these run super small, I usually wear a 6.5-7 and had to buy a size 8.

Good shoe, fits small
This is a good basic shoe. I wish the straps weren’t pre sewn as they are not in the right spot for my feet but that’s easily fixable. I usually wear an 8.5 or 9 in shoes. I originally was gifted an 8.5 and they were way too small so I went up to a 9 and they were still a little snug. It’s important for the leather bottom to cover the whole ball for balance sake so I went up to a 9.5 and they fit much better. Keep that in mind when shopping. It is easier to pull the strings to make it tighter than try to make the shoes bigger

Buy 1 full size up
I am normally a US size 6.5 W or 7 M in shoes. I bought these in an 8 W. At first, I thought they were too large because I can insert a finger into the heel. However, after jumping around a bit in class, your feet swell up and it's important that you can fully extend your toes. I'm puzzled at why people would buy these shoes really snug to try to stretch them. Seems like they'll get a hole super fast. As your feet sweat, they sort of conform and stick to your arches. These are a comfortable ballet flat even if they don't have a large forefoot pad like Bloch Performa for balancing. The canvas is soft and does not cause blisters. I find the suede soles are great for gripping the floor when you need it eg. long lunges. I use these for Les Mills Barre class.

Bad quality
Bad quality. Not sure they are actually Capezio. Feel and look like a knock off.

Very small
I wear a size 10.5 street shoe, and the 12w are only OK. I would like a little more room in the length to accommodate my foot and allow my toes to be flat when I am on 3/4 pointe. I don’t really know why the shoes cannot be sized better, but since these are the only larger game in town, I’ll work to stretch them out. BTW, I have been taking class and trying to find shoes that I like for 40 years, so I have some experience with this. Us tall gals need well fitting gear, too, Capezio.

How To Get the Right Size
They had clearly previously been returned when I got mine but, I think it is because of size. Through other reviews I ordered 1 size up and a wide even though I am a medium width foot. So, 6M became 7W. They fit great and feel great! They are canvas, not leather so, if that's important, keep that in mind.

Cute and comfortable
Worked for a while, but after using them they started to rip. I dance a lot so I can’t blame them.
