Pounds of pull are increased by using a holding surface with the highest iron content possible. Also the thicker the steel holding surface the higher the pounds of pull. Layers of paint and other finishes decrease the pounds of pull.

Review: Works Great - I use these little magnets to magnetize my screwdrivers. When I put my screw drivers back onto my peg board I just let them all stick to each other with one of these making it happen. When I pull one off, the driver is just magnetic enough to keep the screw steady but not too strong that I'm scared of wiping out electronics nearby.
