A great second monitor for travel
I'm an instructional designer and 3D jewelry artist, and I literally dreamed of having a second monitor for traveling. I had originally purchased my top-of-the-line MacBook Pro to make instructional ZBrush CAD videos, but the fan runs constantly and it's picked up on any external microphone. My idea to place my MacBook off the table and record from an external monitor seemed to be the right solution. I also found that the Retina display on the Mac causes Camtasia to record video at a much higher resolution that has to be downsampled, making the software interface blurry. I needed to record at a native 1920x1080 resolution. Unboxing was very "Apple-y." If you've ever bought an Apple product, the heavyweight box, the packaging reinforces that you've just bought something special. They include a nice instruction book that's got lots of pictures...sometimes when you buy something from a manufacturer in the Far East, the instructions are not well-written. Lepow's instruction manual feels familiar and is nicely done...it's very clear. Anyway, this portable monitor does the trick. I bought it on a whim for Black Friday because the price was in my budget, but even at full price it's a nice monitor. If I'd seen it before buying, I would have paid full price, but taking a chance on a new product and company I'm not familiar with, the price was worth taking a chance on. I also see that Amazon may have a coupon...look for that as well. I also LOVE that it's powered by the USB-C port on my MacBook Pro and doesn't require a power cord to run from the USB-C port, although I finally read the instructions, and they suggest plugging it in...if you don't, the monitor comes up not at full brightness, but at least on a MBP with USB-C, it does work. The folding cover makes it feel like I'm carrying a large iPad, and it seems to protect it well. The only thing that I'd like to see changed is the "roll" button for changing the settings. I cannot figure out how to jump from the main menu to the individual setting items...I've tried, but still trying to figure it out...there's got to be a trick that I'm missing. There is a left column of main settings, and it says to press the roll key to activate the menu, scroll the roll key up and down to choose a setting, then press the roll key to confirm. There needs to be a little more information about this in the little book, about how to change columns. I was WAY overcomplicating the stand, too. I was trying to fold it like an iPad...and I was overthinking it. It's attached magnetically to the back of the monitor, folded in an "L" configuration (kind of like a Lexus logo...), then the monitor sets in one of two grooves for two different viewing positions. Also, be aware that the two USB-C ports are not the same. One is a full-functioning USB-C port (on the left), and the one on the right is for power only. When I connect my MacBook Pro to the left USB-C port only, and the MBP is plugged in, it works just fine without external power. That is my experience with the MBP, so I don't know if that applies to a PC notebook. It comes with all of the cords that you'll need to connect, including a USB-C cable, HDMI cable, and a power source cable. If you were on your way to a hotel or conference and decided to have this delivered, you won't be searching around for a Best Buy at closing time to find cables. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this monitor...it's already making my life easier! I'd say if you're on the fence, give it a shot. You won't be disappointed. It's got a generous viewing area and the portability is perfect.

Great Portable Monitor
I am currently managing a project that uses portable monitor with HDMI based action cams (similar to the GoPro), and needed something portable, lightweight and easy to set up. This Lepow monitor was one of several different models that I have tested out, and using. By far, it is the one that looks the best in terms of quality, and the feel of it is high quality, as well. There were some other models that didn't work with Micro-HDMI to Mini-HDMI (the input I used with this monitor), but this one connected without any issues. I also tried it with a USB-C video output on my Dell laptop to the USB-C input on the monitor, and it once again passed with flying colors! What I like most with this connection, is that it didn't need a separate power cable. I do not use it for gaming, but I did connect it to an Amazon FireStick, and the video was good, as well as the sound (not booming, but decent....but with wired headphones, it was a really good viewing experience). My only issue with the system was trying to place the protective screen cover, and avoiding air bubbles (kind of my pet peeve). If if drives you crazy, then I will say to forego the experience, and make sure to use the nice foldable protective cover at all times. Or just try to place it and accept the fact that there will be bubbles (which, when turned on, won't even be noticeable...it's only when it's turned off will you notice them). One last bit of feedback is that the brightness maximum level is not as high as the laptop or some regular monitor screens. It's not dark though, just noticeable when side by side with those other types of screens. It is totally acceptable. Overall, I am happy with the monitor, mostly the design, weight and feel.

Great Monitor!
My wife bought this monitor for me because I like to sit on my deck, have a cigar and watch sports. Normally, I use my old iPad for this, but the screen is a little small for viewing sports and the picture isn't up to today's standards. This monitor is so much better. The screen size is great and the picture is really good. It works great for what I'm going to use it for, but also works great as an extra monitor for my Macbook Air. There are a couple downsides though. First, the volume isn’t loud enough. You can set it using the settings scroll wheel on the side, but even when set to 100, it’s still not very loud. At least there are speakers on both sides, so it is stereo. Second, the monitor doesn't have an internal battery. You can power it from a PC/Macbook, but my iPhone XS Max could not power it. It does come with a USB-C power cord and plugin adapter, but the cord is only 1M, so you need to be close to a power outlet, use an extension cord, or purchase a longer USB-C cord. A larger portable battery might do the job, but my older Mophie couldn’t hack it. The primary reason for this review is to let you iPhone/iPad users know what you need to get this to work. It will not work using only the included cables. You will need to purchase the Apple Digital AV to Lightening adapter ($49 from Apple. Note: Buy the Apple manufactured adapter, so you don't run into compatibility issues). This has the female HDMI and Lightening ports on one end and a male Lightening port on the other. Don't buy the Apple USB-C to Lightening adapter. That was a $20 mistake for me; it won't work for this. Once you have that Apple adapter, plug in the HDMI to mini-HDMI cable (Included with the monitor) into the Apple adapter, then plug the Lightening connector into your iPhone or iPad. Connect your power USB-C cord to a power outlet and you're in business. Note: The power cord has to use the right-hand side USB-C port. Connecting to a PC or Macbook uses the included USB-C to USB-C or HDMI to mini-HDMI cables. Nothing else is required. Finally, I've seen differing comments on compatible streaming services. I use the following apps and they all worked: Hulu Live TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube (regular YT app. I don't have YouTube TV). It will also mirror your phone for apps like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. It's not full monitor size, but is larger than the iPhone display. Hopefully this will be helpful for some of you. I just got the cable scheme figured out yesterday, so I haven't had a lot of time to use it, but so far I'm very happy with it and would recommend it.

Great dual/portable monitor – needs minimal plugs and great value for its price
I bought this Lepow portable monitor because I needed an extra monitor when I’m moving from location to location for productivity and for when I’m looking at stock charts. At home I have a huge ultrawide monitor for working and when I’m on the go, a regular 13-inch screen on a macbook pro just doesn’t cut it. A little extra screen real estate goes a long way. This Lepow monitor was a pleasant surprise, its large 15.6 in screen is big and is actually quite portable (you can put it in your laptop bag or backpack and it takes up the space of a large ipad). Usually on a 1080P display looking at stocks or finer detailed images can be difficult, and it leaves you longing for a 4k monitor, but it actually did the job quite well -- just don’t expect 4k clarity. As soon as I got the portable monitor, I threw every electronics I had at it to see if it lived up to its billing. It handled everything very smoothly. When you first open the product, you’ll notice it takes some cues from apple and it’s a white box that feels pretty luxurious. It comes with a magnetic case, the magnetic case isn’t the best of cases but it does the trick. There’s something about magnets that gives you a feeling like it can come right off if you aren’t careful and also wasn’t intuitive to stand up in the various angles but once you figure out how to stand it up it works perfectly. It’s a free case so I can’t really complain there, it also comes with a screen protector which I am terrible at putting on so I gave up on it and didn’t use it. But again, the fact that they gave you all these accessories included is nice in itself. One thing I really liked about this product is that it includes all the wires you need to plug in most of your devices without paying extra for them or buying them separately. It comes with a HDMI mini to HDMI Plug which makes it ready to plug and play with most of your devices, a USB C Cord, and for power a USB-C to USB A cord with power adapter. The screen is large and beautiful, it is slim for you to take around anywhere. It does everything you want it to for a very affordable price compared to other brands. It’s hard to justify paying a lot for a portable monitor since it can get pricey, this one was the most affordable one that does everything I wanted, and the drawbacks were negligible. The speakers are my biggest issue with it, it seems there’s no difference between 50% volume and 100% volume (it sounds the same, low and not robust at all). However, most monitors and even today’s televisions don’t have great speakers – it’s how retailers make products more affordable. Luckily it does have an aux port that allows me to easily connect it to a portable speaker or my home speakers. My main goal in getting this was to hook it up to my laptop. My macbook pro 13 inch worked like a charm through USB C, I didn’t need any additional plugs to power on the monitor. One USB C plug from the macbook to the monitor was sufficient to run the mac and power on the display which is great! It created my dual monitor setup I wanted with a minimal amount of wires making it versatile and less embarrassing if I’m in public such as in a coffee shop. In the manual it says that generally speaking you don’t need to plug the monitor into a power source unless your device doesn’t supply it with any power. It requires very little power in wattages to display properly, for your electronics that aren’t strong enough to power the monitor on its own you can power it on by plugging it into an outlet with the wires they give you or you can use a standard external power bank . I tried some low wattage output power banks that I use to charge my iphone on the go and it worked flawlessly. This will be useful when on road trips and you want to watch a movie together or play some games on a bigger screen. When it comes down to it, it feels like what you would love for your ipad to be, a beautiful display that you can plug anything you want into it. I had my old super Nintendo classic lying around I don’t use much and I instantly connected it and started to play Super Mario and Street Fighter II Turbo for the next couple of hours. It brought new life to my older game systems I don’t have connected. I’m going to bring it with me whenever me and my friends want to play co-opt Contra III or Street Fighter and we meet up for some beers at an outdoor brewery or camping. My Nintendo switch worked through USB C but required some power for the monitor, if you have a strong enough power supply, I think it supports passthrough charging to charge your Nintendo switch as well simultaneously. I’m not sure if that’s a feature but I saw it charging my switch and even my laptop when connected to my stronger power banks. I also plugged it into my iPad Pro and it worked as well. Overall, I don’t have a lot of complaints about the Lepow monitor, it was amazing as soon as I turned it on and it brought extra life to my electronics. I can’t wait to take it on a roadtrip, it does all the big things I want it to do very well with little drawbacks and at an affordable price. After I showed my buddies some of the pictures of it in use and now they want one.

Disappointed at first but patience paid off in the end.
UPDATE: I downgraded this to one star because, I bought this September 15th and all was well then on December 2nd I bought a pc stick and it got even better now December 14th almost two weeks from when I finally thought I'd get the most use out of this it stops working, the HDMI port is not receiving a signal and when I plug it into my mom's laptop the screen on the laptop freezes and the monitor stays blank. And of course I'm past Amazon's return window I guess all I can do is call their customer support which I doubt will be any help. Okay, so originally I bought this to just hook my phone to it and stream netflix and such on a bigger screen. My TV of five years broke and I wasn't interested in getting a new one mainly because my living situation requires a more minimalist approach. So I assume that I would get this and it would be a one two three boom I'm watching all manner of stuff from my phone to this device. Well as I would later find out because I own a pixel phone the 3xl to be exact they do not support usb type c video output. That is needed to stream from your phone to this monitor. I researched and was just about to throw in the towel when I realized I may still be able to utilize the mini hdmi port. I have a Roku stick from when I had my previous TV and it was still very much functional so a quick trip to best buy for a hdmi to mini hdmi adapter and boom we're in business. Picture works great and looks great. You will have to plug it into a power source since hdmi cables do not supply power but if you are wanting to use this on the go you can just as easily plug it into a power bank, I tried and it worked fine. For my purpose it was a direct replacement of my TV that I can keep in bed with me but then put up when I'm not using it. The only other issue I would say was the sound or more importantly the volume. Even at max with a speaker I have used that has great output it was as if I could barely hear part of the entertainment experience for myself is sound and I need it to emerse myself into whatever I'm watching. Luckily amazon came through again in the way of miniature amp which for an extra $20 was a welcome addition to my set. The power button works as a on off switch for the screen when not in use but still plugged in but for me it's just as easy to unplug it and put it away until I'm ready to use it. My favorite part is unlike a tablet or laptop it doesn't need to be updated or charged and since there's no battery less likely for it to go bad on me. So all in all I definitely recommend it, it works well with a laptop as a second screen as well but as I said for my purpose it's fine and a TV until I get a new one.

A Great Portable Monitor for an Unbeatable Price
I'm not usually one to write reviews for things I buy on Amazon, but I thought that this product really deserved it. I bought this monitor to help me have a dual-screen setup using my laptop while I am off at college this coming Fall. This handy portable monitor does just the trick. It comes with a good-quality case that magnetically fits onto the monitor to help protect both the screen and back from scratches or cracks. The case also conveniently serves as a stand for the monitor at an easy-to-view angle. The screen itself is bright enough to see in all kinds of lighting and the built-in speakers, while they may not have extraordinary sound quality, get the job done. The monitor itself is incredibly light, to the point that I sometimes forget that it is even in my bag. There are several different ways you can power up the monitor itself. There are two different USB type-C inputs on either side of the monitor. The one on the left side of the monitor is used for data transfer from a device (i.e. a computer, a phone, or a tablet) while the one on the right side of the screen is used for power. Although you can power the monitor using any USB port on your computer (this monitor comes with USB type-C to USB type-A chord to do just that), the most convenient way that I have found is by using an external battery to power the device (you can usually find a good one on sale here on Amazon at almost any given time). Doing so is a very easy way for me to run a monitor without having to drain my laptop's battery more than necessary. The box also has a micro-HDMI to HDMI cord that I use to connect the monitor to my computer for data transfer to extend my screen. Overall, this monitor has definitely done its job well. The extended warranty that comes alongside it is a nice added insurance that my monitor will continue to function for years to come even if it ends up going belly up. Really, the only hiccup that I have found is that for some reason I am not able to duplicate my phone's screen as is shown in the information above. I assume that it is just because I have a lower-end phone which doesn't come with a more "premium" feature like screen mirroring. In either case, however, I am very happy with my purchase for how convenient and seamless it has been to use. If you are looking for a portable monitor, look no further than this Lepow monitor.

Incredible Value for Futuristic Tech
I have been so impressed with this monitor. I did a little bit of research and decided to try it out. I'm currently in residence for my PhD and I'm rarely at home to use my 32" LG 4K monitor for my research. My productivity was in the toilet at the library or at work. I'm working off of a 15" Surface Book 2, and while the screen is a decent size, there was no way to fit all the documents I needed on to my screen. In comes the Lepow portable monitor. When I received it, I was taken aback at the quality of the device and the accessories it came with. Really impressive. To power it on was dead simple. Plugin a USB C to USB C cable from my Surface Book to the monitor, and immediately I had power to the monitor and video displaying. I was blown away. Literally doubled my screen real-estate, quadrupled my productivity, and was totally worth the money. Here's the deal. The screen quality is fine. Nothing to write home about. No-where near the level of my Surface Book (It cost 5% of my Surface Book), the speakers are legit terrible but are there in a pinch, and the case it comes with is just okay. However, the ease of use and for the purposes I bought it for, this portable monitor is perfect. It also does some really cool stuff. I can run Samsung Dex on my Note 10+ and plug my Nintendo Switch up to it without a dock. All you need is a battery pack to power the screen and a USB C to USB C cable. Works flawlessly. Seriously, with a Bluetooth keyboard and a mouse, you have a super-efficient and portable PC. Grab a controller, and you have a sweet little gaming rig. This monitor is ahead of its time and is a bargain. Get it now before they realize what they have and raise the price!

Functional & useful, wish it lasted
I bought this to WFH due to the pandemic. I needed a second screen and I was content with not having it too big like 20 inches. My laptop is the 2019 MBP 13.3" retina display and the Lepow screen was to be used as a secondary monitor to help with working on reports & other work related things. I didn't use it for gaming, strictly for work purposes. I liked it, the screen was bright enough for me. Colors were muted but again, I'm using it for work so I could care less how bright & vibrant the screen would be. It reminded me of my monitors at work (color & vibrancy wise). I'd imagine it would not be ideal for gamers or for watching movies. It has built in speakers as well. To scroll between the OSD menu in order to change brightness/contrast, there is a button on the side but feels a little flimsy and long term I find it might get stuck or break. Pros: I loved the width of this monitor! It was SO easy to do a report because all I had to do was maximize Excel and minimal scrolling left. It was so nice & easy to work on. I didn't experience the same brightness issue as other people on here have mentioned. My brightness level didn't reset each time I turned it on. It was easy to just plug and play, no crazy setup, no need for additional drivers. I used the mini HDMI cable it came with. Although, it has to be plugged into the wall via USB-C (comes with cable & dongle) if using the HDMI cable. Yes, a lot of cables hanging out with the monitor but the cables didn't interfere with each other. Power source was plugged in on the right side, HDMI cable was running on the left side of the screen and the left side of my laptop. Cons: I would have kept this screen had it not been for the reduced productivity it suddenly sprung on me. When I initially received this, bought it used but still very much like new so I was anticipating a few hiccups. However, I didn't expect the monitor to constantly blink, turn off, and almost refresh (?) on me several times a day. There would be times when the screen would go black for 5 minutes at a time. And yes, I did check the power source, cables etc. My laptop is always plugged in when I have the screen connected otherwise the HDMI cable sucks the juice out of my laptop battery. One time I turned it on and the screen was purple.....ok.....yes it stayed like that throughout the day. The next day I turned it back on, and screen was fine BUT kept shutting the screen off way too much. I don't know what's wrong with it or why it kept doing that. If it weren't for the glitches in the screen, I sincerely would have kept. Instead I went with the ASUS Zenscreen. Overall it was a good monitor and very useful for work especially if you need a second screen but I experienced reduced productivity due to all the glitches. Maybe I received a lemon. The magnetic cover is ok and it certainly kept my monitor up & stable. I didn't use the screen protector because it's a matte screen (like the screens at work).

Good Portable Laptop
The screen resolution is good. So far using it as a external monitor thru HDMI. No success in using it thru usb-c connection. Maybe because i am using older model of laptop. So far it do perform well to my needs

Faulty Product- Poor Communication
The USB-C cable does not work on this. If that is what you bought it for- to connect to a Mac etc. then DO NOT buy this product. The HDMI Cable is fault and i've spent money buying multiple HDMI/USB-C cables to see if it would work. That did not happen. The customer service is terrible- i have been going back and forth, spending hours on the phone line to receive some sort of technical help or replacement, or anything to make this better as it was an expensive purchase. Wish I had returned it within the first two weeks. the problems start to occur only a week or two after the purchase and it only gets worse from there. if your setup is not perfect, move it slightly then you will lose connectivity. This product has been more of a burden then help and don't have the funds currently to purchase something different and would not sell this to someone else to deal with this problem
