This was an excellent stocking stuffer for my child. How can you go wrong with mini-Simon?! There are single player and dual player modes, and it's nice and compact for fun on the go.

I remember the large game when I was a kid. This is almost identical but just right sized for the hand. The game does not go forward if you win exactly, you don't do the 1st puzzle and add one more and more etc, you just get a new a new but longer game. It's fun to play alone but with this game there is a 2nd option called pass it, where you do your and then pass it to the next person and keep going. The only thing that kept it from a 5 star is there is no volume button. So if you are trying to play while everyone else is sleeping or you give it to entertain the kids in a car, it will get on your nerves quickly. A volume button would have made it the perfect toy and the added advantage that no one has really mentioned is that in addition to being a cute game and lots of entertaining, it does seem to help baby boomer adults keep their mental abilities sharp and people with beginning RA or just stiff joints the exercise that can be so helpful later on. I would recommend this to all age groups.

This game is so much fun! Very educational for my 6 year old nephew. It has been his newest obsession after I gave it to him as a gift for Christmas. I will be grabbing a couple more to keep around as extra little gifts to have on hand. You can play solo or with a group, so the entire family was having a blast! It is the perfect size for travel (just under 4 inches), and is very durable so I don’t have to worry about it breaking while we are out. It even came with batteries, WIN!

Fun little game, nostalgic for those of us who were kids in the 90s. Bought for my son as a fidget type toy that can easily be brought along in the car or while waiting. No ability to change the volume and it's fairly loud, so keep that in mind. The "scoring" is weird and not something that a little kid can interpret. It's a series of lights and beeps that mean some values, but no actual number is spoken aloud. (Conversely, the mini bop-it toys all give a numeric value as a score, which my 5 year old loves. He has no way to tell what his score is on the Simon which is a bummer) I also remember the Simon game from when I was a kid as just continually getting faster and longer to remember the color pattern. This version doesn't do that, it does a few at a time and then starts a new pattern. This probably works better for young kids to keep them from getting easily frustrated, but mentioning it just in case since it was not what I expected.

Im 51 and grew up with the original and lately ive been using it as a cognitive tool. Helps with memory and hand eye coordination. Its great get it.
