Well made and a notch above other brands I have tried

Firstly, this torch does fine for sweating copper. There isn't much adjustment in flame; it's either full blast, just barely on, or completely off. It'd be nice if adjustments were finer, but it's hard to beat this for a $15 torch. Also it's worth noting that the tip is removable, it just unscrews. Also it seems to stay lit in all positions, and mine doesn't blow out easily if you're working outside.

Stays lite great control

I was starting to worry that you could no longer buy a functional torch. I had purchased another name brand torch from a big box retailer. I was surprised that the auto igniter didn't work and the torch would not manually light either. It has been years since I have had to use one but have never had trouble with them in the past. I then started looking more closely at reviews and noticed that brand has really gone down hill. A torch is such a simple thing that I had always taken for granted. I don't know how that company can expect to stay in business when its products don't work. I was happy to see this torch had good reviews and it works as it should. Who would have ever thought finding a torch that works would be such a big deal.

I bought this torch head primarily because, compared to other torch heads, it was fully brass with no plastic parts. However, there are serious flaws with this product that need to be addressed. If judging this product solely on materials and finish, this is a good quality product. It feels nice and heavy and the knob has well machined knurling for precise control (REALLY PRECISE CONTROL THAT WILL BE NEEDED). Before I even get to use it, when I get the item, it shows up with a return sticker on it. I paid for a brand new item but got a (possibly) used item. I needed to use this item soon and didn't want to go through the hassle of returning so I kept it. I inspected it and it does appear to be new, but I dropped a star already becuase I didn't get a completely new item. Now, when I finally get around to using it, it was really difficult to light. That's because just a small itty bitty little turn of the knob sends the propane from off to full blast and blows out the flame of the lighter I was using. Once I finally light it, the smallest little turn (about 1/16 turn) of the knob changes the flame from small to large. How is the adjustment THIS BAD? If you're planning on using this for sweating copper pipe (which requires consistent precise control if you're in a tight area with flammable material around the pipe), SKIP THIS PRODUCT. Look elsewhere for a torch head with better adjustment control. It could save your house from burning down. I dropped another star for the terrible adjustment control. Now, the biggest flaw. I'm not sure if I got a defective unit, but the torch head that I received changes its flame intensity on its own. It doesn't happen all the time, but enough times for this to be a big problem. This is extremely dangerous if you're using this to sweat copper pipe near wooden studs and you're expecting the flame to stay at medium but then it suddenly shoots up to a large flame. This has happened numerous times as I was using this torch head to solder a copper pipe. Thankfully, I was soldering in an area that had some space around the pipe and when I notice the flame going bigger, I quickly pulled it away. If you're thinking that I'm accidently knocking the super sensitive adjustment knob, I once lit the torch and set the flame to medium and set it down on the ground. Then, I watched (without any hands on it) as the flame slowly got bigger and bigger on its own. There is clearly a design flaw somewhere that is causing this issue and it should be addressed immediately. Another star was dropped for this reason. If you're using this torch outdoors to start a camp fire or to burn some things outside, this torch head may be adequate. But if consistent precise control is a priority, skip this product and look for another. Edit: Seller reached out and graciously offered a refund for the issues I faced. Because of the excellent service, I will give them back a star. However, I do hope they will fix the issues with this product as it has the potential to be a great product, but the horrible adjustment knob means its really only good for outdoor use or for when having an adjustable flame doesn't matter.

I purchased this product but does not stay lit. When item is placed in a horizontal position the flame goes out. Very aggrivating. I have not received a replacement item as you stated. If not going to send one then I would like a refund.

Good quality, nice flame and lights instantly

Works as a decent quality torch attachment, but don't expect to be able to actually adjust it. There's on, there's off, there's functionally nothing inbetween.

Husband is a mechanic, bought them because they have a rosebud tip and generate more heat. Told me they worked well for him.
