Great Unit - But Finish Lets It Down
Vida Designs Cosmo TV Unit 2 Door Modern Gloss Matte MDF Living Room Cabinet Media Stand Furntiure Black 120cm Delivery Package arrived on time and when expected Packaging For quite a large unit I would have expected the packaging to be more adequate. All the fittings are placed inside the box on one end. This means if the box is stood up with the fittings end on the floor, there is a strong likelyhood the individual sides and doors will be damaged, as did happen with my first consignment. Whilst the replacement was packaged in a similar way, there was enough polystyrene to cushion everything. Quality of Parts All the matte parts were fine (sides, back, shelf, base and top surface). However, the gloss sides of the doors were covered with clear film, I guess to prevent damage to the surfaces. Frankly, I consider this inadequate as one of the doors was still slightly damaged with 2 dimples. The finish on the doors along the edges is very poor, with some of the brown MDF showing where the matte and gloss finishes join. The six feet have a brushed chrome finish which look damaged because each one had a 'dimple' like blemish as if something pointed had pressed against them. I covered the front feet of my unit with black tape so I couldn't see the dimples. I'd decided that for me, the size and functionality of the unit far outweighed the quality so I kept it... with all its minor imperfections. Assembly I found the build instructions easy to follow and assembly was relatively quick. What let the assembly down is that only 2 of the 4 screw positions for each of the feet had been marked out on the underside of the base. This made attaching the feet harder than it had to be. The screws also did not sit flush on the feet when fully tightened - like I would have expected. Summary Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, warts and all, I can live with. It's okay, it serves its purpose, but the finish and the way it's packaged lets it down. On the basis of my experience, purchase at your own risk!

Just what I needed.
I have been looking for something like this for quite some time and have always been deterred by the prices of such media cabinets, this was very reasonably priced. Assembly, absolute breeze, though I would recommend when attaching the back to use wood glue as well as the provided panel pins and probably would advise to use extra panel pins to attach the back. I would also recommend spending a little time considering cable 'routing' prior to putting the cabinet where it will eventually sit. Most normal size audio equipment will fit nicely, although any 'deep' equipment will prevent the doors closing properly. I simplyused a multi tool to remove the appropriate parts of the back so the audio equipment could be pushed back to allow the doors to close. I found the feet provided with the unit made the unit too low down for my personal liking so I simply modified the existing feet to raise the unit off of the floor by 6 inch or so. If you intend to use the cabinet/unit in a similar way I have done then I would recommend making a hole for cable routing at the back, bottom corner of the two vertical panels ( NOT the vertical end panels ) to route trigger cables, interconnects that don't need to exit the cabinet etc. All in all , highly delighted with the result.

Waste of time and money.
Absolute crap. Upon arrival I could already see the “wood” was chipped in several places. It had clearly been dragged and chucked around in transit. Tons of missing holes where instructions said to drill. Lead to having to make own holes. The measurements didn’t add up, the top piece was coming off as the screws weren’t even long enough to reach it, so may aswell have just been placed on top. Again, lead to me drilling my own screws in to keep it on. I somehow hadn’t lost hope at this point. I double and triple checked the order of each piece before drilling anything, then onto the next step in the manual it’s got something different! The instructions were indescribably unclear and not an accurate illustration of what it looks like. Decided to return at this point, so started to unscrew the screws, but they all just ripped out anyway. Wouldn’t have lasted even if the instructions were crystal clear and the process was a breeze. The backing snapped in two, and the screws just pulled out. Absolute waste of time and money.
