Will a 38" be longer to fit?** A: Hi, I should wear a 38 pants but squeeze into 36. I ordered the 38 belt and it works. If you like more than a little overlap, I'd suggest one size up. There are lots of holes so you can make adjustments easily. I love the quality. **Q: How wide?** A: 1&1/4" now. Maybe it was 1& 3/8" when I first wore it but wearing it may stretch the length a little thereby reducing the width fractionally. **Q: How long is a 42 inch belt end to end in inches?** A: I do not recommend this belt. It has very poor durability **Q: Is this belt stretchy ?** A: A little bit, yes. HOWEVER just FYI this belt literally came apart (two pieces) within a few weeks of normal daily use of the same waist notch, which would certainly seem to be normal use when you are the same PERSON using the same belt on the same waist, right? You would think any quality belt would be designed well enough to withstand more than a few uses. I have now owned 2 of these. After wearing it every day it does get worn to where eventually the tiny holes rip and create a large one. Then basically the belt becomes useless. My last belt lasted me 1 year. However, I still chose to purchase another a 2nd time because of the flexibility it gives you for securing the belt. It has holes very close together so you can really choose one that fits you best, as opposed to other belts where the holes are maybe an inch apart. As a slender guy, that can be the difference between too tight and not tight enough, but with this belt I can get a good fit every time. Even if my new belt lasts for 1 year like my last one I'd probably be okay with that.
