Hand Saw, 12-Inch Hacksaw (CMHT20138)

Sturdy , easy grip handle & blade replacement is also easy to replace , hacksaw cuts smoothly, comes with a fine tooth blade , it’s ok but I prefer a larger tooth blade for faster cuts .

I bought this solely to cut off a rusty bolt from a metal chair that needed to be disassembled, and it did the job perfectly. The blade was very sharp and the size of the saw was perfect to maneuver into thin spaces.

Needed a general purpose hacksaw for my oldest to do small projects with wood and pvc pipe. He has had no issue using this tool. The handle grip is perfect to keep control and a steady cut. The blade is good enough quality to start but you will use it up quickly if you are sawing into pvc.

The saw performs well overall, and I'm rating it four stars. However, the grip design could be improved. It may just be the shape of my hand, but I’ve noticed that my grip tends to slide up the handle during use. While this might not seem like a major issue, the lack of finger impressions makes it harder to maintain a secure hold, causing my hand to gradually move up until it comes into contact with the top lip or turn-out of the handle. Over extended use, this could potentially lead to irritation or blisters. For occasional, light use—such as making a few quick cuts—it works just fine. To enhance grip stability, I plan to add some grip tape to mine, which should help keep my hand from shifting. Other than this minor issue, the saw has functioned well for me, especially while resizing window screens.

Cheapest hacksaw I could find on Amazon and it worked great! I have. It used the saw blade that comes with this saw, so I can’t comment on its quality. I used this saw with a Park Tool saw blade to precisely cut two carbon mountain bike handlebars, and it worked great. Blade tension was sufficient and it was easy to put the blade on. Couldn’t be happier with the value of this saw.

It is what is expected from Craftstman, good quality . Great hacksaw in my tool box

Reasonable materials but badly made. One thing to note, there is very little ‘seating’ to keep the blade vertical and it tilts side-to-side as you saw. Very disappointing in that the primary thing I require from a hacksaw is that the blade stays fixed vertically or horizontally

Steady n sturdy when use.

I picked up the CRAFTSMAN 12-inch Solid Frame Hacksaw a few weeks ago for some home projects, and it’s been surprisingly solid for the price. The frame feels sturdy and well-balanced no flexing or wobbling, even when putting a bit of muscle into tougher cuts. The handle is comfortable to grip, which makes a big difference if you’re using it for more than a few minutes at a time. I’ve used it on plastic items and it slices cleanly without much effort at all Overall, it's a sturdy, reliable hacksaw that gets the job done without any trouble. A great option for the DIYer or anyone who needs a solid tool for the occasional cut.
