## Description

DC Power Jack with Board and Cable Dell Inspiron Power Board with DC Jack and USB This item is in excellent condition. Compatible Models: ☼ DELL 1545 P/N: 48.4AQ03.021

Review: Complicated install, but works great - As everyone has stated, you have to completely disassemble the laptop to replace this part. There is a very helpful Youtube video on the Internet that walks you through it step by step. Use the video, and pause and rewind as necessary. Label each set of screws on a sheet of paper to make sure you get the right screws back into the right holes. While this is not a Genuine Dell part, it is an exact match, and fit perfectly and workmanship seemed fine on my part. The laptop would not charge the battery, and eventually, the charging port broke altogether. It is possible to replace just the charging port by soldering on a new plug, but this option seemed easier. Just take your time with the disassemble and reassembly and you'll be fine. The part works great and the laptop has been restored to life, and the battery now charges. One other recommendation, replace the CR2032 BIOS battery at the same time if it's a few years old, since it's on the motherboard and not easily replaceable otherwise.
Review: Works great - I was a little hesitant when i ordered this because my original one had a round power connector end. But i ordered it anyway with a new power cord and battery. I installed it and it worked just fine. no issues at all. I have plenty of experience with repairing laptops. It's not hard to replace the part but you do need to take out the system board to do it. So there is a lot of disassembly, clear work area is a must and there are some videos on line. You'll need a number 0 and 1 phillips screw driver and a small flat head a pen type magnet is also helpful, you can buy them at radio shack or Sears. Don't buy cheap ones you'll strip screws.Pay attention to the connectors, the keyboard mouse and power board connectors are ZIF and you just need to flip up the black ZIF lock and slide the cable out. The video connector just pulls strait up. When removing the screws for the top cover on the keyboard side use a marker to indicate where the scews go do the same for the 4 system board screws. In some of the videos that i saw they have you removing the processor and the WLAN card. It really is not necessary but you will need to disconnect the antenna wires from the WLAN and snake them through the top because you need to remove the LCD assembly (not difficult). WLAN has 2 wires one black and one grey, take note where they connect, they are push on type connectors and do take a little bit of force to put them back on. Hope this helps.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have a replacement a/c power adapter that fits in the OEM socket, but is loose. Will this fit a round tip?**
A: It does fit a round tip but whether or not this actual adapter will fit your model laptop is what you should concern yourself with. Also if your jack is just loose try taking her apart and doing a quick solder job. Check to make sure all soldering points are secure and check for corrosion. A simple resolder could be all you need. Why buy something you can fix yourself? I advise you to make sure it's the charging base that's bad. Check your laptop adapter itself to make sure it's not a simple cable replacement and Also check your outlets to ensure its not just a bad outlet that you are trying to plug into...sometimes the simplest things we overlook...Good luck

**Q: where do i find the part number on my power jack board?**
A: i believe the number is on the jack itself

**Q: round jack or octagonal jack?**
A: Octagonal jack. This is specific to any Dell Inspiron and some Latitude models that use this configuration.

**Q: Does this part snap in or does it require soldering?**
A: Snaps right in, no soldering

### ⭐⭐⭐ Worked but needed slight modification to board and computer case
*by W***T on June 25, 2014*

In the end it all worked out but I had to break out the cutters and exacto knife. I was fighting during the replacement board trying to get the holes matched up along with seating the mainboard connection. Turns out that just cutting the edges near the USB port and also trimmed the fins that this board mates up against the outer edge. Maybe why some folks said it did not work..... It will work you just have to mod it a little.
