That said, the product itself is well-made and does a great job of protecting walls from stray darts. Pros: ✔ Durable and Thick – The backboard is made from high-quality materials that effectively catch and stop darts. ✔ Sleek Design – It looks great around a standard bristle or steel-tip dartboard. ✔ Easy to Install – Simple setup process with a snug fit for compatible dartboards. Cons: ✖ Not Compatible with GranBoard – Unfortunately, this backboard doesn’t fit my GranBoard, so be sure to check compatibility before purchasing. ✖ Could Be More Universal – Would be great if it had adjustable sizing for electronic dartboards. Final Verdict: The Viper Defender Backboard is a solid choice for steel-tip and bristle dartboards, but it’s not compatible with GranBoard. If you’re using a traditional dartboard, this is a great protective backboard, but electronic dartboard users may need to look for alternatives. – High quality, but check compatibility first!

I needed a surround that fit relatively tight around my Winmau Blade 5. I 3D printed a ring light and the legs holding it are basically friction fit between the board and surround. Initially the surround was slightly too big, but Viper includes a strip of adhesive backed foam to make it a little tigher. This worked perfectly. I've had the surround and light up for a few days now and nothing has moved. I haven't yet actually hit the surround with a dart yet, fortunately. The foam is pretty dense and would absorb most of the force of a dart. Overall, this is a nice looking surround. I appreciate that it's black and not a loud color. Most of all, I like how it holds up my light ring.

I agonized over which wall protector to buy with my new dart board - and there are a bunch of options out there. In the end, a cabinet didn't work for my space so that moved it to wall boards or foam surrounds. I decided to save some $$ and go with the foam. I was worried how it might look as I have refinished my basement and it looks pretty nice with a real pub feel to it. I was pleasantly surprised when I put the foam together and placed it around the dart board - I hid the logo for aesthetics and it looks great. You cannot easily tell it is a puzzle piece type assembly - from a typical distance it looks like a round piece of foam. It is a subtle look, much better looking than I expected when placed around the board. And it has come in handy a few times when trying to hit a bottom of the board double number. Absorbs the dart well. For the price - and if a cabinet doesn't work for your space - a great buy.

This surround is exactly what I was hoping for. High quality at a very good price. It fits my professional dart board perfectly, looks really good and performs exactly as described. The 4 pieces fit together nice and tight so no coming apart. Note: The first 2 pieces I tried to put together didn't allign quite right so I switched 1 piece and everything fit fine. Very happy with my purchase, highly recommend!

This product is like a hard foam jigsaw in four pieces from the box. It goes together very easily and well. If you don't want to read the branding once it's around your dart board, you can simply turn it over for a blank black ring.

It serves the purpose. However it is slightly larger to my Blade5 board. From the box, you also receive a 2-3mm thick sticker that you use to close that gap by surrounding the sticker all around the board or inner circle if the surround.
