Have you owned this mouse for a year or more? How has it held up? Are you experiencing wireless connection and scroll-wheel performance issues?

I bought mine in 8/17 so it's only 11 months ago.  The wireless connection is fine, but the scroll-wheel moves in the opposite direction I turn it half the time.  It's very frustrating.  Any suggestions?

Is this good for someone with thumb pain?

Before I start, I majored ergonomics and usability, but  I AM NOT A DOCTOR: 
so you should consult your pain with a doctor or a therapist to really solve the problem,

If you feel more comfortable in a neutral position, YES.

There are two main advantages from the Ergonomics perspective, 
1) wrist muscle will have less distortion in the neutral position
2) Thus the tunnel that the nerves go through should have less pressure

I've used most of the product in the market except the Logitech MX since I settled to the penguin before the launch. 
They all have the same problem: your thumb rests on the side as if you grip an object.
The actual neutral position should have the thumb position to be on the same plain with your palm(+90 degrees is also acceptable).
This mouse affords that position.
Though the pictures on the item description have the grip position, you can lay your thumb on the spine of the mouse, which is the real neutral position.
