So far so good!
[update 8/27/24] This has been working rock solid - everything I said in my original review is how I left it. No tinkering required except the height (keep reading). I used channel 2 for the chime and it's been a good chime. But yesterday afternoon the chime played and after the chime it said "Channel 2 low battery." I cleaned the solar panel in case there was dirt preventing sun, but this morning it said the same thing. Hopefully after mid-day it will be charged enough to not have the issue anymore. but inside the rubber bottom, ants have gotten into it, so maybe that is causing the issue, or maybe the battery is starting to leak, or an adhesive has melted, and attracted the ants? I'm not sure why ants would want to live in it. It is mounted to a tree, and it's pretty high now, after 2 years of the loblolly pine tree growing, and the pines getting thicker, maybe the sun is having a hard time hitting the panel. I had to put the sensor up high (7ft) and angle it down at the driveway to keep the lawn mower from setting it off over and over again. My Htzsafe sensor/alarm lasted three years, so hopefully this one is not going out after just two years. There was no rust or corrosion that I could see when I sprayed ant killer on it, hopefully not causing corrosion. I have the second sensor charging so it's ready to swap if needed, but I paid $60 for one Htzsafe and $100 for two eMACROS. I like the extra range on the eMACROS (I put it further up the driveway), but not if they die every two years. [original 10/10/22] My main concern is the bottom flap. Will the micro USB port and the toggle switches rust out? We shall see. Several hours in and it's working perfectly! I wish they would add a dial that would let you select one of 20 chimes. Full review: For the past 3 years, we have been using the Htzsafe 1/4 mile driveway alarm. This 1/2 mile range is better. There's a bunch of walls to go through, so I'm sure neither will go the rated distance, but at least these are not arbitrary numbers. This eMACROS is longer range than Htzsafe The Htzsafe only has a single button on the sensor and was very finicky to set the range (it was also used for on/off and pairing). The toggle on this eMACROS was appealing to me for that reason. But, it's a possible point of failure. So we shall see. However, the Htzsafe had 50, 30 and 25 foot ranges, this eMACROS only has 20 and 30. I'm not quite sure what I had the Htzsafe set to lol it was so finicky, I just know it was not enough out of the box and I had to turn it up, and after several tries it worked better. So far the 30 feet range is working well, and my driveway is about 30 feet wide. The Htzsafe hung directly on the outlet which was perfect for me, but this eMACROS has more options, you can put it anywhere, and it can be battery-powered. So I found a different place to put this eMACROS since it can't hang on the outlet, and it's fine. It does have an eye hole to hang it on a screw so it can be hung, just not directly on the plug. The Htzsafe had more chimes. The receiver only had 2 buttons, but that was okay, following the instruction manual (don't throw that away on something with so few buttons!) I could change the chime, some were longer some were shorter. It appears this eMACROS only has one chime per channel. So if you put 4 sensors on this receiver, you have no choice of chime. The main thing I want to change is how calm it is, and how long it is. Maybe some toggles to change that for a future version? Mounting this thing to a tree was weird, but if you watch the main video (for now - amazon pages change over time) they show rotating the sensor 45 degrees so you can get a screwdriver to the mounting hole. I didn't think to do it that way lol. I'll leave it at that. The Htzsafe was much easier to mount and seemed too loose, yet it never fell/sagged for 3 years. Both work, but if you plan on moving it all over the place and readjusting until you get it within an inch of where you need it, the Htzsafe would be easier in that regard. The Htzsafe also used a standard ball so you could use other mounts. This one looks like it uses a ball, but it's not a ball and socket. it actually has a screw holding the 'ball' on, there is no socket. You can loosen or tighten the screw, but you have the unmount the square plate to get to it. This one basically is made to aim straight ahead, and that's all I need unless it starts having issues.

Easy to install
I own a small ranch in southern Colorado. My gate is some 400 feet from the house and not directly visible. So, I decided to get a sensor system that has a good range, easy to install and use. This fit the bill nicely. Though the kit started with two sensors, it can be expanded to four with no effort. I currently use both of the included ones but plan on getting a couple more. Setup is a snap and false triggering is really minimal. Some times the wind might trip a sensor but it is a fairly rare occurrence. Sensitivity can be set to a lower lever to help combat it if it becomes too often. I noticed just this morning that birds can trigger them if they just happen to be in the coverage area and flying toward it. Very rarely does this happen, or so it seems. These are pretty big birds, by the way... Ravens. The sensors are solar powered and even after several cloudy days, I have had no issue with their operation.

Works As Early Warning System
I purchased this system with 3 receivers and 4 motion detectors. The system is easy to setup. First, charge the motion detectors. This took only 15 minutes for me with 4 detectors and 3 charging chords. Next, turn the detectors on using the slider on the bottom...you can select either "low" or "high" to set the units sensitivity. After that, it's as simple as moving the 2nd slider on the bottom of the units to channel 1, 2, 3, or 4...wave your hand in front of the sensor to hear the unique tone associated with the 4 channels and select the one you want. I installed 2 of the sensors onto tree trunks. The plastic base / mount allows enough flex to hug the curved tree without cracking or breaking. These sensors monitor my driveway and front door respectively. My last 2 sensors are used on each back corner of the house to alert me of anything that might want to creep around there. They are both mounted to a flat surface of my deck. All 4 sensors are between 3-4 ft high off the ground. So far the units have proven to be reliable and great at letting me know when cars arrive in my driveway...or delivery people drop a package at the door. I have found the detection range for these sensors to be at least the 30 ft that they describe. In fact, I am currently running all of my sensors on low sensitivity with good detection of cars and people without the sensing of birds, squirrels, and my distant neighbors lawnmower lol. All 4 of my motion sensors are within 200 ft of the receivers, so I can't really speak to the range, though other reviews would suggest it's excellent. I have already recommended this set to a friend who lives in a rural area and has a long driveway (she's been surprised by delivery people on more than one occasion). All 3 receivers chime instantly with the correct unique chime you set for each detector...they also have a visual indicator with a blue lit number corresponding to the chime. You can control the volume of the receivers as well as mute them completely but still have the light-up visual indicator. The only real knock I can see with these is that if you want to mount your receiver on the wall (cause they're flat and if sitting on a table the visual indicator is hard to see) the power chord will be plugged in at 12 o'clock and looks a little strange. Not a big deal really when compared to the overall goodness of this system.

Easy to install, works immediately
Easy to install and set sensors to different alarms and adjust volume. Seems to work well in the short time installed. Hoping it will last long-term through weather of PNW. Very reasonable price if all continues working well.

Inexpensive alert
Update: 3/27/26. After my review, I was contacted and asked if I would like to try the chargeable & wireless base. I agreed and it arrived within a week. I got my IPhone to connect and even got one sensor programmed but trying to get second sensor to connect only got me a “Waiting to connect with phone” message. I even took them down, brought them inside next to phone, wireless router, and computer. Same thing. Turned everything off, reset all and same thing. I reinstalled the first one just to test it. These sensors are supposed to have 1/2 mile range but when testing it I had to be within 10’ before it could detect a vehicle, if it can’t detect anything it can’t send anything. These are a complete waist of money. Don’t buy this!! Original Review, These can’t hold charge for long. If I have partly cloudy days with bouts of sunshine, even large delivery trucks can get past it without detection. A couple of cloudy/rainy days and it forgot the tone I assigned to it and returned to factory setting tone. The base must always be plugged into electrical outlet, so the only way to change alert tone is to retrieve the alert, take it to the base, re-sync, go remount down the driveway. My previous set, the base hung on the wall like a picture and was charged by USB so it’s easy to remove from inside wall to take it to the alert to re-sync. I live in a rural area with a longer driveway but no where near the limits of this set and definitely not as long as others driveways in the area. Unless you need an inexpensive alert, and don’t mind the hassle.
