Relieved, she sat down and expressed her gratitude. I promptly went back to my reading but I could feel her eyes boring into me as I anticipated the dreaded question."What are you reading?" she finally blurted.Now I know this is neither a profound nor earth-shattering inquiry but there were two problems at hand here.One, I'm terrible at summarizing books. Just awful. (Which you're about to discover.)And two, I was reading a book about female empowerment. Which ironically, I was ashamed to admit. Clearly, I had just started reading the book.But then I thought of something Brian said in this book, and I went for it.Allowing myself to be open and even vulnerable led Martha, the lady in front of me, and I into a conversation for the next hour.This is a simple book, in that it is easy to understand (thanks Brian!) and yet it has profoundly changed my life by finally lifting the fog and opening my eyes.We're living in a culture of `never enough'. I'm certainly feeling it. Are you? I never work hard enough, I don't help others enough, I'm not successful enough, I don't eat healthy enough... and on and on.That, for me, had to change. And fast.Brian Nox, the author, talks a lot about how making a major change in your life isn't something you wake up and do one day, it's something you practice every single day. And most will struggle with it, but without the struggle, we lose out on so much. But there’s more, the changes I thought I had to make weren’t the ones that were important...at all! I got the Audible Edition and the Kindle App with Whispersync version. I love listening & reading along. What's great about this book is well EVERYTHING. I am a very transparent person but at times very emotional. But regardless of what people think of my Vulnerability, I stood my ground on being me. He talks about the High Value Woman & as I listened, I suddenly came to the realization that I AM ONE. I am by no means perfect & he has helped me to understand the things, I need to work on. I know its not my body, the way I eat, the way I am but other things that I am certain will help me to nurture all of my relationships. I have been failing at putting myself first but no more of that. I will be able to spot other High Value Women & I will know we are like minded. I gave this book as a gift to a High Value Woman who doesn't realize how amazing she is and how she deserves to be treated. I know this book will open her eyes. I follow Brian on YouTube & loved everything he has to say. Even though I am married, I have also read and listen to his other books. You’ll feel in control again. This book will help you get the most out of the many relationships you have (not just with men). And if you’re open minded you’ll see what a tremendous role you get to play in all of this. We’re so much more in control of our lives and the experiences we have than we often believe to be. Life doesn’t just happen, we get to choose how other people treat us, how we feel, what we do for a living and how we can be in control.If I’m honest then I have to admit that I’ve been attracting and accepting bad behavior from men, have accepted less than good behavior at work and continuously put others in front of me while forgetting about what mattered to me, personally. Even though this has given me feelings of frustration in the past, I now see that there is another way.You’ll love the step by step strategies that you can follow.
