Amazing violin
I have bought this violin as I wanted to start a new instrument. Due to the price my expectations were extremely low, however, I have found this to be a great product. The violin itself looks well made, it comes in a semi-rigid cover with a front pocket and internal pocket, I can easily fit the violin, bow, rosin, sound silencer, and shoulder rest. In the start the pegs will slip, I have found in many places that any violin will do that, is just a matter of pushing them in and if required, put some rosin around the peg. Overall, I am very happy with this product. Have all the equipment needed to start with this, considering the price, it's a really good offer. The only thing that I found to be bad with this violin were the strings, I had to change them as the sound produced was quite strident. However, I have been told by many professionals that violins of any cost range usually come with bad/old strings, so this is not a flaw of this product itself.

Pegs are loose
I spent a day and a half trying to tune this thing but the pegs were so loose they would bounce back and unravel, trying to force them in tighter meant I couldn't twist them without having to reposition the violin and use my right hand to turn them making the simple task of tuning impossible, rendering the violin useless. DO NOT BOTHER. P.s. that's not mentioning how terrible the rosin is -excessive dust- , how in shambles the carry case is, or how messy the hair on the bow was. The stick on finger board is useless because it's in black and you make out the letters looking directly at it neverimd from the angle of properly holding the violin. The fact this is so cheap should tell you how useless this item is, its effectively a showpiece that looks cheap. I sent back for a full refund and bought a Stentor instead, even adding £100 to the cost makes a massive difference to this junk. If I could afford a £500 piece, I would but for now my advice is - if you pay 10% of what it cost for a decent, respectable piece, expect the same percentage in usability, durability, design and quality. This is the kind of thing you'd buy for kids who clearly aren't that interested because then it doesn't matter if it works, they never use it properly anyway, may as well save yourself money. Otherwise save yourself the headache of tuning way longer than ever should be necessary and go for the stentor student violins, which according to most compare websites, besides Mendini and the clearly more expensive ones, Stentor offer the best quality violins for students.

Good value for money but you get what you pay for
Definitely decent value for money but my e string had snapped within the first full turn of the tuning peg. (Which was my fault as normally I re string all string instruments before attempting to play for the first time) Ordered a new set of strings and will change my review accordingly, other than that, it feels great to hold and the bit of practice I got on the other strings produced a nice bright sound. Very good for the price I paid.

Perfect beginner violin
I’m a professional multi-instrumentalist and I bought this due to its low cost and quick delivery to basically satisfy academic curiosity. I’ve never played a violin before, but I’ve been in a duo with a leading fiddle player so I know what good sounds like. I also compose using top industry samples - among them solo violins - and all round I’m really impressed. This violin sounds great. Warm, clean, great clarity, robust bottom end. For a beginner it’s ideal as you are satisfied with the sound you produce quickly. Intonation is easy to navigate; there are no surprises about a pitch being in two different places on the same string. Takes a while to find its tuning but only a couple of hours of playing (basically it will keep de-tuning itself when you first play as the strings need to stretch out to their elastic limits before they’ll maintain a steady pitch; it’s totally normal). It looks great. Certainly doesn’t look cheap - at least to my eye - and I instantly felt like it had character on taking it out of the case. But the most amazing thing is the price. Considering you get about £40’s worth of case chucked in it really is staggering. If you’re new to the violin, you could do far worse. And for something that will bring years of joy and creativity and hopefully imbue you with a life skill, £40 is nothing.

Good beginner violin for the price
Made from plastic and not the best quality, but for a beginner violin it's perfect, might need to get a better bow but otherwise not bad for the price

New
Thrilled when I received this. Set it all up and I was tuning it.... 1 string snapped. So disappointed. Came with no spares either. Had to order some and have to wait till the 11th November before I can try again and play.... I pray that it tunes correctly this time and no more strings snap.

Perfect!
After being forced to learn the piano and clarinet at school, I finally decided to become a late in life learner and play the instrument I actually wanted to play when I was young - the violin! As I had no idea if I would enjoy it or actually be any good, I wanted something cheap and cheerful just in case it was destined for the loft! It arrived last night and my word I’m impressed! I’ve nothing to compare it to, but the tone is actually impressive (which was confirmed by a violinist family member). Its comfortable too (chin rest is great) and the whole thing has everything that a violin should have! Make sure you score the rosin that comes with it and take 10 minutes to rub the bow (I didn’t realise you had to do this beforehand and thought I’d bought a dud because it made no sound 😂😂😂 - duh!) it’s perfect for beginners - I’ve already been able to get some decent notes out of it and can’t wait to get into lessons. I snapped the E string when fiddling with the pegs so am waiting for a replacement set (£6) so no biggie. Honestly, this is the beat value for money purchase I’ve made since my £40 sewing machine 🤣 - if you’re on the fence, I say go for it - you won’t be disappointed!

Mycket bra violin!
