I didn’t rinse it when I first added it and the initial cloudiness went away rather quickly. (It was probably only cloudy because I added Fluval stratum underneath and that stuff makes a mess) It’s very easy to clean with the siphon vacuum as it doesn’t trap debris. I used about half a bag for my 29 gallon tank, but the back half is aqua soil with a thin layer of this stand just topping it, so you’d probably need about 3/4 of a bag for a 20 gallon long or a 29 gallon like me. Review: Recommend for Aqua and Yard scaping - Fantastic and multifunctional! I use pool filter sand for both my aquariums and landscaping. For aquariums it's not dyed so doesn't leech into the water, it's clean (since it's intended for filtration) so I don't lose half the bag to dust/dirt, and it's dense enough the fish can aquascape without the aand getting sucked into a filter. 10/10 recommend. It's also fantastic for filling in holes in the yard, since half of it doesn't wash away for the same reason as above and it doesn't pack down line super fine sand does so water drains through it. Bonus points it's easy to move back when the dog feels like digging and the local lizard population likes to hang out around it; getting warm, grabbing an easy to see bug snack. 10/10 for my yard, too. ## Features - Clear Pool Water: Designed for above ground and inground pools, this filter sand captures leaves, dirt, dust, sunscreen oil, hair, and small particles to help maintain clean, inviting water. - Superior Filtration: Washed and screened 20-40 sieve pool filter sand provides reliable filtration performance, helping reduce maintenance and keep pool water clearer throughout the swimming season. - Safe Pool Filter Sand: Soft, clean silica sand is free from chunks and harsh additives; Compatible with most pool filter pump brands for safe operation and a healthier swimming environment. - Advanced Processing Technology: Produced with robotics and precision screening technology, this pool filter sand delivers consistent quality and a long-lasting solution for sand filtration systems. - 50 lb Pool Sand Bag: Each bag provides enough sand to fill approximately 18 square inches at a 3-inch depth; Ideal replacement sand for pool filter systems and seasonal maintenance. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07VHK3S9T | | Best Sellers Rank | #10,157 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ( See Top 100 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ) #2 in Sand Pool Filters | | Brand | Palmetto | | Brand Name | Palmetto | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 2,519 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00739210105570 | | Included Components | Palmetto Poolfilter-50 Superior Pool Sand Filter | | Item Form | Granular | | Item Type Name | Pool Filter Sand – 20# Grade – Formulated for All Residential, Commercial Pool Sand Filters | | Item Weight | 50 pounds | | Manufacturer | Palmetto | | Manufacturer Part Number | Poolfilter-50 | | Model Number | Poolfilter-50 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Package Size Name | 50 lb | | Product Benefits | Maintains Clean Sanitized Water | | UPC | 739210105570 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Palmetto - **Item Form:** Granular - **Item Weight:** 50 pounds - **Product Benefits:** Maintains Clean Sanitized Water - **UPC:** 739210105570 ## Images ![Pool Filter Sand for Swimming Pools, 50 Lbs, Natural Silica - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71VT1j3e3CL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Number Of Items** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Someone recommended this sand for use in an aquarium.
