Orlux Insect Patee, Complete feed for insect eating birds, 800 g (1.75 lb)

Product was received one month after ordering. Delighted to feed it as a supplement to my bird. This is a highly rated product, but I did have difficulty finding out more specific ingredients ("bakery products" as an entry to cover several components), as it does required refrigeration after opening. Regrettably, this product had an expiration date only 2 months after its arrival. We are awaiting resolution of this matter, but DO check your expiration date on the back first thing. I ordered the larger bag for one small bird, so this isn't acceptable. Otherwise, the product is a good one, with visible dried insects throughout the other mealy parts. Addendum: I received a RAPID, POLITE response from the vendor of this item, reassuring me that the expiration date (appearing as 12/6/15) is actually 12/6/16, with the date likely distorted due to an ink smear. I am revising my original review to 5 stars accordingly, along with my lead-in "title".

I chose this 5 star rating because my birds love this food. I give it more as a treat and they gobble it up. I also do bird rescue and find that this food works well as their first food when learning to feed themselves. It's difficult to buy in America so I usually have to order it from Canada or England. It's well worth it. My Zebra finches also enjoy it.

Bought this for our pet starlings—they hated it, even when I mixed it into their regular food. Gave some to our chickens; they were slightly more receptive. Maybe because, bless their souls, our girls are mindless eating machines....Finally, laid some out for local wild birds. So far, they’ve snubbed it. Maybe it’ll work for others, but for us, it was a waste.

Been long term feeder of this product and my community finch aviary it. Glad to be able to get this here as my regular supplier in the US no longer carries it.

Unsere Amseln lieben das Futter sowohl im Winter als auch im Sommer. Wir mischen immer etwas Uni Patee unter, so dass sie eine gesunde Mischung von beiden bekommen. Auch Rotkehlchen lieben das Futter. Wenn jemand seinen Vögeln draußen etwas Gutes zukommen lassen möchte, kann ich das Futter wirklich empfehlen.

Can never have enough variety of food for the birds and my other pets to make sure they are having a good diet and this is a good one.
