Review: Works great - Replaced a non USA made spindle jack thought was holding only the stairs and landing but was also supporting part of the house. The old one was rusting away/ fell apart when removed and was under sized from a big box store. This support is a Cadillac, sturdy and easy to adjust with the screw. Well worth the money spent.

**Q: Would it be possible to adjust it 2ft (From 6 to 8) when it is holding some weight? ( We need something to help us lift small trees)**
A: Yes, but If you want to lift a load you should look at the Light Duty Steel Lifting Shores.  These lifting shores have a patented nut assembly with thrust bearings that increases the lifting capacity up to 10x over the standard shores.

**Q: On the STL-13 (the 13" - 17") how much lift is generated by a half turn of the big wing nut?**
A: On all the Ellis Steel Shores 1 turn results in about 1" of height adjustment.  1/2 turn would be about .5" of height adjustment.

**Q: Can this item be used outside, permanently?**
A: Yes.

**Q: What gauge steel are the beams?**
A: The orange body pipe is 2" schedule 40 steel.
