Great internal capture card, for live streaming game footage or Bridge/DSLR/HD camera footage.
This is a premium product for a very specific purpose. As such "value for money" isn't really relevant. But, if you want to capture up to 4K @60 FPS, from a games console, Bridge/DSLR camera, or intercept and/or pass through any HDMI display, this card is perfect. For PC build space consideration: this card's dimensions are roughly early iphone sized(in credit cards? 1x1 and a 3rd, with a depth of 10mm(yeah I know, I don't have enough credit cards for depth lol), minus PCI-E connector and rear PCI-IO plate. In other words, it's pretty small. The build quality reflects it's price, and at no point would I say the have cut costs. Aesthetically resembles the offspring of 2 SLI'd GPUs (when Mummy & Daddy GPU really love each other.....). It's looks even extend to it's stylish black PCB. Let's face it these are a currently a default purchase for any streamer/Youtuber, who wants to capture lossless footage: and that would be Elgato's target market. Well, its for any streamer that wants to do a little more than ASMR streams(ladies, fear not. It will do those too. Well, the "quality" camera side of your "content" at least). Are there higher-end capture cards? Sure, but A, what site can handle more than 4K @60fps bandwidth, and B, who's PC hardware can currently exceed that by more than a few dozen fps? C, if your hardware can support more then you are a pro, with an exceedingly specific purpose in mind and a high-end card would be better for you. It's software? It works-ish. But, I can't think of a single scenario where you would use a very basic "cut-and-splice" video editing program, when so many vastly superior free or cheap solutions exist. As to streaming, it's driver software(yep, still comes on a DVD, but can be DL'd from Elgato's site) makes it available to all newer versions of OBS or Streamlabs. I have hopefully answered some of the questions you may have, based on the the questions I had to research when I wanted to stream decent quality game footage, or connecting my Lumix FZ-2200 Bridge camera(FZ-2500 in the US) to OBS as a webcam. My verdict? The Elgato 4K60 Pro is a great piece of kit, so is the AVermedia "Live Gamer" equivalent. They're both PCI-E internal capture cards that will do the same job. The AVermedia has some RGB lighting(if you want to light your PSU shroud or slightly illuminate the bottom of your case for some reason), but for me, I much prefer the small sleek Elgato. I would highly recommend it. No, I'm not sponsored by Elgato, although.... if they're listening....

Read this is you are getting a green screen
So I started off trying to get the 4K 60 S+ version of this but I ran into so many issues of them breaking that I decided to just install one inside my pc instead. It's very easy to install but let's just get one thing straight right now! Elgato have a strange and annoying habit of only using premium high speed HDMI cables! So this means that when I installed it all I got was a flickering green screen and I couldn't get my game on the screen at all. I was devastated and thought that my 4K capture card was broken but as I said before it needed the magical premium high speed cable to work. I connected the cable and was finally getting a clear picture but was still unable to get 2160p. This is another thing you need to know about Elgato, their 4K capture utility can't do 4K! But with the cable all I did was leave it on 1080p on the 4k capture utility and then switched on my OBS and turned that onto 2160p. This fixed the issues and finally was able to start recording in glorious 4k! Though do be aware that you can't record in HDR either. These issues aside the videos that are recorded with this card are stunning and you certainly will be rewarded for all your hard efforts if you ran into the same issues as me. With this card I finally had the quality videos that I wanted for my YouTube channel and if you're looking to do the same then I would highly recommend this card

It's good. Works with PS5 aswell
This product is great for streamers and people looking to get great game shots on console and PC. Build Build quality is good. It's well made and looks cool. My only problems are theres no indication of whether its actually turned on, it would be nice if it had a little light on it or something to indicate its getting power. Also it's only HDMI, considering most high end GPU's nowadays use mainly display port, it's a bit of a pain to use up the only 1 hdmi slot on my gpu. It would be cool if you could sell official displayport adapters for it so those of us on pc can have life a little easier, I wouldnt even mind paying extra. Picture quality Its good overall. Great for recording videos on games and whatever else you do. Set up Now this is the downfall of this product. Plugging it in and securing it is easy. But using it in elgato software is horrible. I recommend you install the elgato software, let it install the drivers and everything and then download streamlabs or OBS because it's far easier to use. Value for money If you are a streamer or content creator then I'm sure youll get your use out of this and it will be well worth it. I think to make it fully worth the price elagto needs to do an update on the 4k capture utility. Overall, a pretty solid product. Good for recording ps5 and PC vids.

Mighty piece of kit
Been using this for a couple years now and I have had two issues with it, first was the hardware deleting its own drivers and the second was a Picture death where no picture would transfer through the card but a quick reinstall with the drivers sorts it out. It records in 4k60 and looks amazing the audio is perfect but sometimes struggles to record PS5 audio when headphones are plugged into the controller if lag occurs its most likely your recording software like OBS so give it a restart, I’ve never had an issue streaming or anything like that and all issues are usually solved with a restart of the recording Software or Comouter itself

Elgato 4K60 Pro MK2 - Best 8 Bit 4:2:0 capture card
The Elgato 4K60 Pro MK2 is an awesome capture card. Having a YouTube channel and owning and using many capture cards I can honestly say that the 4K60 Pro MK2 is the best value capture card available. Yes, there are technically better cards that can capture 10 Bit and 4:2:2 chroma subsampling but those cards cost a lot more money and given that many capture sources and destinations such as YouTube and streaming platforms are only 8 Bit 4:2:0 anyway. There's a good argument that capturing 8 bit 4:2:0 is all that's needed. There are other similar cards on the market but one thing I can say about the 4K60 Pro is that it is solid and dependable and I've never had any capture issues or crashes with them, I've had three. Lastly. Even if you only need 1080 capture I'd strongly recommend the 4K60 as it's not massively more expensive than a 1080 card anyway and you'll be future proofed for when you do go 4K. Cheers, David Harry.

Ideal For A 2 PC Setup
This was installed in a "streaming" PC as part of a two PC setup. The ability to passthrough high refresh rates was perfect when cloning the monitor on the "gaming" PC. Being able to access the video feed in multiple applications simultaneously, is also fantastic if you are looking to record and stream a the same time. Installation is really simple, but be mindful of airflow when positioning it next to other components. These cards get incredibly hot, but have no onboard cooling. Adequate airflow is a must, not just to keep the card cool, but also to manage the excess heat inside the case.

Great for Xbox One X
**You will need a free PCI-e slot to run this card, NOT a PCIexpress** Great product if you stream your Xbox games and want a better quality stream. The 4k60Pro eliminates the need to switch cables around all the time, preventing damage to the hdmi ports. I have a 1440p monitor, after some tinkering with the PC software downloaded from Elgato’s website, I was able to get the downgraded 4K feed from the Xbox. I’ve bought a few Elgato products now and the quality is always top notch. Great product!

Easy Install and does what it needs to do
I Will keep this simple. 1. Rip off... Super expensive does not need to be this price. 2. Works better than any other I bought. 3. Plug in and it just works no driver install or anything. 4. The 4K Application which is part of ELgato which you can download works amazingly. 5. Presents as a source in OBS Studio no issues. 6. Supports 4k Footage and works with my SOny A6400. Does it work? YES! Any HDMI Input. Do I NEED IT NOW? - Don't buy it at this price point wait until Corona is over maybe if you can as £180 is far too much.

Does what it's supposed to do
One of the nice things about this capture card is the instant game-view. There's barely any latency on it which is a plus. I went from their first hd60 to this and the difference is huge. The hd60 was a great device and lasted several years and I'm hoping this one will do the same. I've always hated connecting multiple connections to just one device to just be able to record it and play it on a single monitor. Now, I'm able to just use one single cable and it connects all the audio and gameplay I need. It now only connects from the 4k60 pro to the console that you need. It's nice to finally be able to play my console games on windows.

Suprisingly Amazing
I had initially bought the regular HD60 Pro capture card and prepared for war. Setting it up to work with console streaming seemed to entail hours of complicated setup. As I waited for it to ship I came across an article about capture cards where it marked the 4k60 Pro as a seamless experience when connecting to consoles like PS4 and Switch. I tried to find some guide on how the 4k is setup but couldn't find much which seemed strange. I decided to wing it and canceled my HD60 Pro and opted for the 4k capture card. Installing it into the PC was very easy. Once I had everything plugged in and the software downloaded. I powered on my connected Nintendo Switch and bam. It worked flawlessly and instantly. Beautiful perfect streaming, no audio issues, no connecting issues. It just worked instantly. I immediately started up OBS Studio to sync my capture card and wow. Again it was picked up immediately and worked with a click of a button. I had my brother and friend jump into my Twitch stream and they immediately commented on how good the quality was. I was very impressed by how seamless the setup was. I have yet to try it on PS4 and don't have plans for any 4k streaming for sometime but I can confirm the Nintendo Switch at 1080p was working as good as it gets. No input lag, no fps issues, no audio issues or configuring for me. I just plugged in my headset to my computer and it worked. Thanks ElGato
