Garmin GPSMAP 64x, Handheld GPS, Preloaded with TopoActive Maps, Black/Navy

Absolutely love the Garmin GPSMaps for geocaching I have a 62s and 64x love them both glad the 64 came with topo and street maps and they both have lots features for geocaching

A little learning curve. Once you understand the buttons it is a snap to use. U Tube has many instrucnal vieteos to watch to better understand. I did not have to purchas any extra maps. what it comes with is perfict for my use in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness on the boarder of Canada and Minnesota.

Still learning how to use it. Don't use/practice everyday but getting easier to use the more I use it.

I like the style of the gps unit, I like that it can be used for lots of things, my most favorite is geocaching because lots of geocachers use this kind of gps just for that, sure it can be used for other things like fishing and hunting as well, lots of great features? deffenetly recomend this product 85%?

For basic geocaching this is a relatively inexpensive gps...not overly complicated and very accurate

I really dislike using this device. I have had it for a number of years now and keep trying to use it and I cannot follow the logic. I prev had a Garmin, one of the earlier ones for walking, and driving, full screen, and I really like it. My son took it to school and so I bought this 64st based on the reviews. I cannot even find distance traveled or a return route. I have not bought a replacement but if I ever do it will be a Montana or such. This is very very frustrating to use.

Feature wise- a key limitation of the 64X is the lack of bluetooth support. This means you can't pair the device with your smart phone to use apps like Garmin Explore to navigate. And while this is not a newer model, Garmin devices that are much older have this capability. I cannot assess other aspects of performance- but if you have a capable smartphone the 64X will limit your ability to take advantage of your smart phone's screen while navigating. Tracks can also not be downloaded/synchronized via the Garmin Explore web site or Explore smartphone app. However, Garmin Basecamp can be used to upload GPX files to the device.

Awesome product from Garmin, battery life does suck 16 hours or less with the AA’s. Recently upgraded to the 66sr, if you have the money save it for the 66sr it beats them all hands down faster satellite acquisition than the 64x. Also 6ft accuracy, vs the 9ft of the 64x
