I am sort of a pepper connoisseur. This I would have to admit. I think just about any meal or dish is incomplete without a bit of this wonderful spice. Like most, I have lived my whole life buying whatever pepper that was on the shelf of my local grocer, and I was a happy person doing so. Now my entire life is changed. I am no longer the same happy person I was. UNLESS... I have this particular pepper! My life is not complete without it. People who hate pepper for their entire lives taste this on their food when they come to my home to eat and have a "meet Jesus” born again moment............ except with pepper. Do not buy this pepper if you ever want to be a happy person without it in your life again. The transition is unavoidable after your first culinary experience. If amazon ever quits selling this I will be forced to seek it out by whatever means necessary. If I had any complaints about this its the bag. Its not resealable. But the pepper in this bag is undoubtedly the best experience in your mouth you will experience. It will make everything you cook a bit better than it was before. You will never be a happy person again with any other pepper. That's my one warning. Not kidding. Enjoy

How much difference is there between peppercorn? If you are going to bother grinding fresh pepper, you deserve to load up your mill with some of the best. I’ve done some research specifically on the Tellicherry name and specification, and have come up with several conflicting items. Some state that the Teillicherry is a designation of the specific location or region where these originate. I have also seen several articles that state that is not true, but that these are sorted and graded and are designated Tellicherry as an indication of high quality and proper sizing. Whatever is the truth to the name doesn’t matter to me. What does matter is flavor, and this is by far the most delicious peppercorn I have tasted. We have used it ground on various foods. I’ve used it as a part of our fresh rub for our home smoked pastrami. Everywhere I add it, the food just tastes better than that pre-ground cheap stuff available in the grocery store. I have even started to add some fresh gound black pepper to my coffee ground when I make my morning brew. It is worth noting that this also is a great value for the quality and quantity. We have been to several gourmet shops that charge more for a small fraction of the volume. Even with all of the recipes that incorporate black pepper, this is still a lot of pepper. Unless you are a real pepper fanatic, I suggest sharing with family and friends, or you can do as we do and vacuum pack the unused portion. This will allow this one bag to last a few years without any degradation.

I could tell right away that this was a great bag of Tellicherry peppercorns by the heft of the package. I have a digital kitchen scale and weighed the bag. It weighed one pound plus, so the minimal weight of the packaging taken into account. I caught a light peppery scent before I opened the package and that smell intensified when I poured the peppercorns into the plastic container I use for storage. There were no stems, no empty peppercorns and no dirt whatsoever mixed in with the peppercorns. I taste tested a peppercorn and it tasted amazing. I have not yet ground any of these fine peppercorns but I fully expect them to be incredible when I do so. I will purchase this product from Spice World again when needed and I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending this product to anyone interested in the World's finest pepper.

So, you think you are ordering just an AVERAGE bag of peppercorns? THINK AGAIN! I was walking through wal-mart and saw 2 people fighting over the last box of frosted flakes. One guy was alot taller than the other one, but the other guy (lets call him scrappy) was holding his own. I thought to myself as i was looking around for security "this is getting out of hand", so i calmly threw my bag of peppercorns at the big guys face and knocked him out cold! Well scrappy was angry at this point and told me, quote "i was about to beat him up, and you ruined it!" then he started to swing on me! well at this point i knew being a good samaratin was going to pay off, so i picked up the bag of peppercorns and swung it at his face and left a huge welt! Well scrappy was stunned and fell over a rolling cart and lo and behold, a whole case of frosted flakes box fell down and opened up! Just then scrappy saw them and was overjoyed so he took 2 boxes, woke up the tall guy and gave me a high five! Im not sure why but security decided to show up and give me a hero's escort out of the store! They must really appreciate peppercorns like i do. so i went home and told my dog all about it and he thinks im a hero too! they even put my picture up at the security office! must be for special priveleges i suppose! and i guess the peppercorns tasted good too.

First, the term Tellicherry ONLY refers to the size of individual peppercorns. A lot of people mistakenly believe it is a different variety of peppercorn, and that is simply not the case. When a peppercorn is 4.25 mm or larger, it is classified as Tellicherry. (4.75 mm is called Tellicherry special extra bold.) When these arrived, they came in a huge zip top plastic bag that was only partially filled. I first thought that the bag had spilled in transit. Then I weighed the bag and the contents was 1 pound, as it's supposed to be. I don't understand why the company put the peppercorns in such a big bag with all of that empty space, but that's not good planning in my opinion. It makes it hard to keep air out of the bag, thus running the risk of losing freshness. After weighing the bag and finding that part correct, I started looking at the individual peppercorns and unfortunately there is a significant percentage that are not the required size to be called Tellicherry. I don't know if peppercorns are allowed to have an acceptable amount of undersize or not, but since this was a Prime Day deal for me and I'm not that big of a food snob, I'm just going to keep them. I would recommend storing your whole peppercorns in the fridge to help preserve the freshness.

We're repeat customers! This pepper has the right blend of spice and fragrance for us. Not so much bite that it overwhelms other flavors, but enough to stand out. It also has a bounty of pepper flavor/fragrance to stand out, even in rich cream sauces and things like that. I keep ours in a sealed mason jar until it's time to refill the grinder, lasts a good long while that way without any discernible flavor loss. Highly recommended!!

I'm on a low sodium diet and also happen to love the taste of freshly ground pepper on my food. After going to the local grocery store and pricing out a tiny shaker of McCormick's pepper at around $7 I decided to check bulk prices on Amazon. I purchased on a 16 oz bag of Tellicherry Peppercorns from Spicy World. To begin with I'm glad their name is Spicy World instead of some automotive supply place because I recently bought something on Amazon without paying attention to the seller's name. It worked out fine but it was a reminder to pay attention to the details instead of just cost. I ground some peppercorns in my OXO Good Grips Lewis Pepper Mill (Also on Amazon and a great product) and generously peppered my chicken Alfredo dinner from last night. The peppercorns had a wonderful flavor and a little went a long way. I really recommend this product to anyone looking for a decent price on whole peppercorns AND it was a great opportunity to learn about Tellicherry peppercorns, which come from India are considered to be the best peppercorns available. Just Google it like I did.

These smell and taste so well robust and well rounded with flavor. I typically use Kirkland Tellicherry Peppercorns, which are great. However, these top the Kirkland brand with their aroma and flavor. Hint of sweet, earthy scents followed by the robust fresh just picked scent of tellicherry. These give off a mild heat, not overpowering but a well rounded everyday peppercorn. The corns themselves are very uniform and medium small in size. Great for all types of grinders. There is just something about these that lure you in for more with their scent. Not a strong "pepper" smell, much more to it. Complex but very good.

I did not add a photo because it looks like pepper. The taste is what counts and also the value. Both are great with this pepper. I went to order some more in late June 24 and at present none is available. I hope they are replenishing stock.

I enjoy the flavour, but I will need to remember to allow for extra time for the delivery.

These peppercorns I already know are fantastic because we're ordered from this company in the past. Excellent service and came by mail very fast. Would definitely buy from this person again when they all run out. But for now have more than enough for my spicy needs. Keep making this product like this in the future the same way. they sent a big bag that was only a third full. I get it's sold by weight but I would have paid a little more to have that bag FULL of peppercorns. It is very good pepper, nice taste.
