Flat Utility Weight Bench for Home Gym Weight Training and Ab Exercises

So the 17,000 current reviews are for 2 different flat benches. After looking at the reviews there seems to be some failures in the weld of the less expensive bench but not in the more heavy duty version. The one I bought and this review is the more robust bench costing a few dollars more. The bench is solid, and does not move once put together and all bolts are tight. The bench is very well made, with nicely supplied hardware that was easy to put together. They supply 2 allen wrenches, but you will also need an adjustable wrench or a socket which works better for fastening the carriage bolts. The padding and stiching looks well made but time will tell, but for the money this seems to be a bargain.

I've used/owned all kinds of benches including ones from Rogue, Rep Fitness, and Dick's Sporting goods. I've also used my share of bad benches that were too high, with pads too narrow, and legs that stick out where you normally put your feet. This is a darn good bench. There is a slight taper to the bench, which is the only downside, but even at the head it's just a hair under 12". Benches with a 10 or 11 inch width are awkward as your shoulders usually end up hanging off the edge. This wide pad is very nice for stability while benching, and gives plenty of room for box jumps or lunges. The height is VERY close to IPF specification (17"), and the low height allows you to tuck your feet to create a strong arch for benching (if you bench that way). Length-wise it's a bit on the shorter side, so if you're much over 6'2" I'd start looking at another bench. It's very light-weight and easy to move around, but still stable. The pad is of medium firmness, and on the slick side. It does look like some people are receiving benches with Q/C issues. I wouldn't fret too much about this, Amazon is pretty good about returns and replacements. For an upgrade pick, I would look at something like RepFitness FB-5000, but I wouldn't spend any less than this on a bench. Height: 16.25" Pad width: 11.5"-13"

I'm 5' 10" but I have short legs (30" inseam) and I didn't want a bench that made me feel stretched with my legs dangling off. This is just right for me at about 16.5". If I sit on the end and lie flat back, there are several inches left above my head... and I have a long torso. It's over 43" long. It slides easily on carpet. It's very rigid/stiff. The foam is firm and dense. The cover is a nice vinyl. It doesn't smell funny. I feel confident it can hold my 200+ lbs and the weights I'll use in my home gym. 1 install tip; notice that the 4 L-brackets are slightly different lengths on each side. If you follow the instructions, it becomes obvious. The install was very easy/straightforward. All in all, nice bench for the money.

For a home gym this is all you need. I am very satisfied with my purchase. Just like others I'm sure, I was skeptical until I got it, unboxed and put it together. Putting it together is not difficult. You will need an Allen wrench. I have worked out at many gyms. I've seen more expensive benches, heavier, etc. but, for your personal use at home, this is all you need. It's a good bench for personal home worked outs. The bench feels solid and it's not wobbly. Everything you buy, the quality is based on price point. For this price, this is a top notch bench "for this price." I'm glad I made the decision to purchase this one. I have invested a lot in dumbbells, so saving a few dollars here was needed. I am satisfied. Yes I recommend this item. I'm not a paid endorser, I'm just an average Joe that's building a home gym.

This bench arrived well-packaged and undamaged. The screws, washer, nuts, and 2 hex Allen wrenches were presented in a vacuum-sealed package. The only tool the user needs to supply is an adjustable wrench. The spot welds did not have any gaps or cracks. The powder coat has a slightly rough texture, but coated all of the metal. The rubber ends for the feet insert into the metal frame rather than wrapping around it. The vinyl bench cover was in perfect condition with no gaps where it was attached to the bench. Assembly was easy. The holes for the screws are not precision-placed, so start all 4 screws that adjoin the frame to each foot before tightening. Same thing with the 2 screws adjoining each end of the frame to the underside of the bench. I am a small frame woman and I anticipate that this bench will serve me well for many years.

I got this to take along to our winter campground. It's very sturdy and steady. I'm older so I limit myself to 2-40 lb. weights at a time and the bench is very good quality. The padding could be thicker but it's not a big issue. It fits through the door of our 23' Airstream and it keeps me going for 2 months in the winter. I'm pleased with the purchase

Well made very sturdy. Though had to leave one screw of eight that holds the bench to the legs out due to poor alignment would have to cross thread to make it work. Since Amazon won’t unlock my account this is the last purchase I made. Will not make another Amazon purchase! Have cancelled my Prime membership. Amazon directions for 2 step verification recovery are false. It doesn’t work! I will shop Temu, Walmart and Costco. Amazon doesn’t care about its customers. With a locked account you can’t talk by phone to a real person. Chat customer service is only good for issues with orders. My account will sit idle. Till all the ice in Antarctica melts!

Wow! I am impressed! I did not think this bench would be anything like it is. I actually prefer this one to the one I use consistently at the gym....it's that good. Easy to assemble, clear instructions, and it was actually bigger than the picture made it seem which is GOOD! I almost spent twice as much on a different one because I thought it was bigger. Glad I didn't! It's got perfect padding, very comfortable, it's so sturdy and I use these benches for hardcore workouts, with a lot of weight and pressure, so this is absolutely perfect!! So excited to get good quality workouts in at home!

Strong & sturdy, very easy to put together with the chrome nuts, washers and bolts. Fantastic embroidery in red makes the black bench quality.

Just an update I've been using the bench for a couple of months now and it's still as good as I first said it's still sturdy and very comfortable I like how it sits low so my feet our planted on the floor was very easy to assemble by myself it's the best flat bench I ever had I'm 230lbs and do dumbbell presses using two 50 lb dumbbells and there is no wobble at all was a great addition to my home gym oh yeah I got it at a really affordable price I love that part and I'm just overall impressed with this Marcy flat bench I do recommend it

La banca se siente MUY solida y ya la probe levantando 60 kilos con 100 kilos de peso. Lo uso para hacer desplantes en banco y otros ejercicios recostado en la banca. Yo lo uso como un EXTRA ya que tengo otra banca de mejor calidad que uso para el benchpress. Es MUY IMPORTANTE que este banco lo uses con cinta antideslizante, sobre suelo antideslizante o lo asegures de alguna forma al suelo. Yo lo uso sobre suelo de caucho así que no he tenido problemas, pero cuando lo arme por primera vez y la probé sobre piso de concreto es MUY RESBALADIZO. Es obligatorio que este consciente de este hecho y tome medidas acorde si va a comprar este producto, no arriesgue su salud. Es un buen producto, pero tiene un problema de diseño muy importante.

Great deal at $80. Very sturdy, good cushioning, nothing obviously cheap about the construction. Easy to assemble on your own. The bench is liable to tip if you’re sitting at the far end, but this can be fixed by putting spare weights on the legs at the other end. Overall would recommend and buy again.
