Hayward PowerFlo LX

Spent a lot of time looking on line for a good pool pump. The reviews were more good than bad and the pump looked solid and well made. The specs were just what i needed. Arrived via Fedex a few days after ordering and was very easy to install. Very well made, solid and worth the money. Worked like a dream and really moved the water way better than my old 1,5hp pump that was throwing a bearing and noisy. Quiet and easy to remove leaf trap to clean.After 10 weeks it just stopped and motor was super hot! Probably had a bearing seize.Called customer service and spoke to technical, Giselle, and was very pleasantly surprised! Has a one year warranty and she emailed me a Fedex call tag to return the pump. Once she received proof later that day the it had been received by Fedex, she had a new pump shipped out same day!Doheny's really do offer peace of mind and easy to reach by phone and very responsive.Highly recommend them!

Pump works great, so far no issues! be sure to get the 4 year warranty just in case!

I used this pump for my aboveground swimming pool and the before/after situation was unbelievable for me. The pump is so powerful with very high suction power which circulates water efficiently. The pump is great in design as it is light, very quiet and efficient. Made of high quality material and I believe this pump will last for a longtime. It was so easy to install the pump, which I installed that myself without the need for any technician to come and install it. The pump was not expensive and much cheaper than other brands in big stores. I definitely recommend this Hayward pump.

We have the 16 x 32 Intex above ground pool and the salt water system. The pump that came with the pool was so temperamental and never really worked correctly from the beginning. It was always getting a low salt reading and would shut off. There was plenty of salt in the pool. We quit using the salt system. After a little over a year, that pump just quit! It was still under warranty but was out of stock. I ordered this pump because I couldn't go without a pump. I eventually did get the Intex replacement two months later. It is still new in the box in our shed. I couldn't believe the difference. The suction and flow was so much stronger on this 1.5 Haywood. The original Intex pump was only .75 hp. We already had the largest sand filter from Intex for that size pool. I was concerned about the pressure but it was fine. I did have to change the Intex fittings for the Hayward pump but it was relatively simple. My only complaint is that I have to keep replacing the gasket in the filter basket because it loses pressure. I am not sure of the warranty and our pump is 2 years old and starting to make a high pitch sound. It is such a great pump that I an ordering another new one. Not sure why ours is making a noise but just in case it decides to quit, I will have a new one ready for replacement.

Excellent replacement pump, quiet and powerful!I bought this Hayward PowerFlo LX pump to replace my old pool pump, and it has been fantastic so far. It has plenty of power for my above-ground pool and keeps the water crystal clear. One of the best things about it is how quiet it runs compared to my previous model. Installation was straightforward and didn't take long at all. Hayward is a trusted brand for a reason, and this pump delivers great value for the price. Highly recommended!

I bought this towards the end of the pool season (2025). It was a direct fit and replacement for the Hayward pump that has failed me after 15 years. The pump made a loud squeal on start up from day one and does go away, but the loud squeal definitely should not be there. I should have returned it, but was in a bind. I don't expect this motor to last very long because of this. Obviously the bushings are compromised.But that is not the worst past. The pump leaks at the outlet join to the filter. I must have removed the fitting no less than 20 times. Taping, Taping with thread sealant, just thread sealant, new fittings at least three times. The threaded female outlet on the pump is warped and no matter how much sealant or tape you use, it drips. What a waste of $420 bucks. Next time I will go with the Chinese knock off for half the money as this pump is no better in terms of life span and quality control.Just opened the pool. Before closing it last season I took the filter apart and gave this join one last shot which was once again unsuccessful.I know what I am doing. I used to take my filter apart annually to clean it out and would remove the fittings from time to time. Never had an issue with just re-taping the fitting when I needed to.Update (7/31/26) - the pump died less than a year after this $400 purchase. Hayward was no help as they don’t honor online purchases, even though it was through them. They wanted me to take it to an authorized dealer that wanted to charge me a $100 diagnostic fee plus labor to repair it. The pump and bushing simple seized. Just a poor product. Amazon could not help me either, not even a partial credit. I bought a non Hayward replacement from my pool store. I should have done that from the beginning. Shame on Hayward.
