It took some effort to cut through the stiff plastic packaging but once I got the battery loose it was obviously genuine. When I placed it in the charger it showed one red bar and I got the flashing red & green lights some people complained about saying the battery was defective but I held the charger and pushed the battery into the charger and it "snapped" into position and charged fully in less than an hour and this is a 5.0 Ah battery. Very impressive. The charger I have and used is Model 48-59-1812. I believe the fact that the battery was new caused it to take a bit more effort to fully seat it in the charger, at least the first time. I am very happy with the seller and the battery.
