Previously bought a much more expensive pool robot. It broke after one use. So, I thought let’s try this as the reviews looked good. Our pool has a screen enclosure so leaves and sticks are rare, but with rains we do get lots of small debris. This little unit worked like a champ. First, I wisely used a “real” aluminum pole. The unit is light enough to move around yet heavy enough to stay on the bottom and gently scrub at algae. Also, the motor is powerful enough to suck it all up plus get all the sand and tiny gravel that accumulates. You can see in the picture the results. Easy to clean and charge, too. Clever pool vac that I’m hoping gives many seasons of cleaning. And the battery ran fine and strong for a 20,000 gallon pool. We do have a screened in pool that limits a lot of the larger debris, so this is perfect to quickly clean the pool every 2 to 3 weeks. So much easier than setting up the super long hose to the pool filter etc.! Update, the locking handle broke. It’s kind of flimsy plastic. I bought a replacement for a few bucks sadly after a year and a half now it won’t start. It’s a shame because it’s really a great little and effective quick pool vacuum.

I've had an above ground pop-up pool for years and have used the cheap water propelled vacuum with the garden hose attachment... Hose was a PITA but great for leaves and other large debris. However, not great with sand/silt/small bugs. The "dust" would go right through the mesh bag and cloud up the pool. This vacuum picks it ALL up!!! 🥰The battery life is 45 mins and it's super easy to assemble. Used for first time today and pool was pretty dirty due to recent storms (Wish I had taken a pick of all the small debris in the canister. Could have made a tiny sand/bug castle with it). Had to stop once to dump the water & spray out the canister & filter and then finished it up and skimmed. Soooo much easier and cleaner than before. Not too expensive, not too cheap and does a great job!!!

We ordered almost 2 years ago as we had one before that lasted about 5 years. I used it frequently and the first was out on covered deck but got moved for cleaning and wasn't noticed that the plug in part wad facing up and open so drip system filled it with water and killed the motor. Our fault totally. Got a new one. Worked great just like before but stored in shed Tobe sure the electrical part stayed dry. Did the same last winter but took it out, charged, and nothing. It's dead. I guess like everything it seems older ones are better built. We will try a different brand this time. Can't afford that much for a few months of working. It is easy to use, picks up a lot of debris on bottom of pool. We live in orchard so we get lots of junk in pool. This is easiest way to clean it up quick but now I see other brands with good reviews for less than half the price.

UPDATE!! Almost a year later! Still love this little vacuum. The motor went out at 9 months (and I really babied it) but the manufacturer sent a replacement right out, a couple screws and it was back in business. 🙂 I love this for getting stuff out the pool that you don’t want to run thru the filter and wastes very little water. It runs around 30 to 45 minutes before needing charged. It collects sand and small debris and some algae. I wish- * It was made sturdier and a bit heavier so it wouldn’t be as apt to try to float. I use a heavy metal pole and it still wants to float. * It came with a crappy pole that I used once. It now shares a long sturdy metal pole with the brush. * The brush head moves to adjust easily to angles but I find it keeps flipping up and floating. I got a vacuum that ran by itself using water pressure and a huge hose. Kept getting stuck. Such a pain. Got a manual leaf catcher. Awkward and time consuming, but got leaves. Not sand or algae or any fine particles. Used once and have never looked at it again. Got a good wide brush head vacuum. Cheap plastic broke in different spots until it was unusable. Worked well until it didn’t. Dead within 3 months. Can’t afford the robot yet so I tried this one. First use today. Finally found what I was looking for. Easy to clean and put back together. Easy and light weight. (Bit of an issue there because the base takes effort to keep on the floor the deeper the water is.) No more lugging around the ginormous hose! 🥳 Battery operated. (No chance of electrocution. ⚡️) Pole is a surprisingly nice sturdy strength. Unfortunately, it’s only good for my shallow end. The holes align with my poles so I can interchange them. Cleans great!! Having the ability to suck up big leaves AND small particles (sand, dirt, bugs, algae). The filter inside catches most of the little stuff, but not all. I could see some being put back in the water. Longevity- to be determined I love it. I wish they made a professional version made with materials that will last 5 to 10 years. I have a feeling that even with the utmost care, it won’t last years. 😕 Overall I recommend this over the other crap out there. I can’t compare with a robot, but this is an affordable option I would say to give it a shot before investing in a robot. But! This is use one. Who knows how things progress from here… I will update after a few more uses or of flaws discovered

I'm so glad I bought this rechargeable pool vacuum. I had been struggling with the long hose that attached to my skimmer. This certainly makes the job much easier to keep my pool clean. It's easily maneuverable and easy to clean when I'm finished. The battery life gets the job done. I have purchased additional filter covers to use depending on the type of debris at the bottom of my pool. Definitely worth the price I paid.

This is the second time we've had one fail after only one year. Never buying another one. It's a little heavy and about the size of a dustbuster. It does a great job while it does work, but so far we've had two of them and both have died about a year after purchase. The seals seem to fail inside of the unit flooding the circuit board with water and it will not turn on. It has great power but as far as value goes it is pretty poor because it only lasts a year. May have used it half a dozen times and it's already broken again. Do not buy it unless you plan on using it for one season.

Updated review - vacuum is still working well to meet and exceed my expectations. While it does take more of my time than just setting up a timer for an "automatic" cleaner, we have not used an automatic one for 8 years or so because it never seemed to go where we wanted it to. This vacuum works very well going forward and backwards. I have been careful not to put too much stress on the pole connection as some have identified that as a potential weak point. I would buy it again! Original review - I have had this vacuum for about 10 days and used it 6 or 7 times. It does a really good job picking up small and fairly large items off the bottom of the pool as seen by the stuff picked up in the basket. I am being careful not to turn it too fast after I read the review showing the part of the vacuum that attaches the pole to it breaking off but I think the connection is adequately robust. I also am careful when pulling it out of the pool. It is easy, after you get it disconnected from the pole, to turn it over and let the water in it run into the pool before putting it away. Overall, I am very happy with the vacuum and believe it is a good value. I have not had to charge it yet. I bought a few expensive "automatic" cleaners over the years and they never seemed to clean the spots where stuff was. I can spot clean effectively with this vacuum and spend a lot less time and hassle than I would using the vacuum that ties to the skimmer intake. Glad we sold our cleaner that had a separate pump and would run for 2-3 hours a day and leave junk on the bottom of the pool.

We're pretty satisfied with this item; it cleans the light debris from the pool bottom pretty well (but not really fine stuff like pollen) and it sucks up some surprisingly large leaves, etc. I'm disappointed though that the battery did not last longer: it is dead in less than 2 years. We followed the instructions to recharge after every use and to not leave it on the charger for more than 24 hours. We can only use our unheated pool for about 5 months out of the year and we tried to use this about once an week with periodic heavier cleanings with a more powerful cleaner we have that works off of the pool circulation pump. So, this gets regular use but does not get heavy use. At first, the battery allowed full cleaning of the pool (about 40-45 minutes) with power to spare. Now, it slows the pickup after about 15 minutes and is dead at 20. Yes, they sell a replacement but that costs about 1/3 the cost of a new vacuum. That's a tough call if its not going to last any longer than the original. Have to shop around and see what else is on the market.
