Excellent
This product has a strong odor, that smells like nail polish. However, it works incredibly well and was super easy to apply. I tested it on my nightstand before deciding to use it on my new marble kitchen countertops. I just thoroughly cleaned the dust off my old marble nightstand top and made sure it fully dried. I, then, applied the Proseal with a small piece of lint-free rag and a gloved hand, just by lightly rubbing on a good amount. I went over it twice. The next day I tested my surface with a drop of oil, in an inconspicuous spot, and the oil just beaded up on top without any penetration into the marble, at all, even with leaving it there overnight! No more worrying about oil or wine stains! After it dries it does leave the surface slightly dollar, but this buffs out with a clean cloth. I have used other marble sealers in the past for my bathroom marble tiles. This one is considerably easier to apply than the Bulletproof sealer I used before, because you don't have to keep going over the same tile to keep it wet for 15 minutes like the other one, which was very time consuming with doing 60 ft. However, the sealer does have a much stronger odor than the Bulletproof sealer, just fyi. I made sure I had an open window with a fan blowing out. Also with the bulletproof sealer I could still get oil penetration. As with any sealer, it should be replied every 6 months to a year, depending on how much use the surface gets.

Tenax Proseal is an excellent product
This product does what it states it does. It will seal your granite counter top and not affect the color. It is easy to apply. We used a cotton wash cloth to apply the sealer and a cotton towel to remove the excess. Clean surfaces are a must. It is important to work in a small area at a time. The sealer dries quickly. If it dries one just has to wipe more over the dry part and immediately wipe it off. We waited 15 minutes between coats. The sealer is not messy and not as liquid as water. Make sure your area is ventilated. The fumes are strong. Before seaing our counter top water used to leave a grey stain that would disappear after it evorapted. Now water beads like it does on a waxed automobile. These were new counters and the installer claimed to have sealed them as part of the job. We did not like the water stains that appeared. We resealed them to be sure.

Good stuff
Came recommended by a pro installer. Easy to use by pouring it out seems to make a mess. Wish it didn't come in a fat can with small lid. I applied it with a sponge paint stick. 2 coats. Seams to work well. Accidently got some on the wood of the cabinet and didn't seem to affect it in any way...whew!

Purchased Proseal and Hydrex - both excellent, but Proseal protects again grease/oil
I purchased the Proseal and the Hydrex products from Tenax. Both are EXCELLENT products, but the Proseal protects again grease/oil, as well as water. I started my project by testing both products on a scrap piece of granite we had. I first did half of the piece with the proseal and half with the hydrex. I thought that the hydrex side had a smoother finish - my hand just slid across it, versus the proseal being a little more "tacky" which really isn't a good word to use as the product and granite was dry. It just was not as smooth as the hydrex side. Again, the products protect against different things ... hydrex is more for water, whereas proseal is water and oil. On my test piece, I decided to put the hydrex over the proseal and see what happened. When dry, both sides were nicely smooth. I decided from this test that I would use the proseal as a base layer and then finish with the hydrex simply for the smooth finish. While doing our entire kitchen countertops, I found application is be quite easy ... after reading some suggestions online, I donned nitrile gloves and proceeded to just use my hands to apply the sealer ... working the sealer across our new granite countertops keeping the areas wet. After some time (maybe 10-15 minutes), I took a cloth and wiped the countertops down (removing the excess) and allowed the counters to dry. I tested the application with water. There was complete beading and no penetration. I did not test it with oil/grease. I did make sure that my application around the stove and sink was thorough - even applying it twice in those locations. I am very happy with this product and would definitely purchase again.

Works beautifully on our travertine floors, lasts a long time too
Been using Tenax products for almost 6 years now, and love them. This Proseal is fantastic for sealing our natural stone flooring. We have travertine in our front foyer and laundry room. Proseal is easy to apply (I clean everthing with alcohol, first, using a spray bottle). It lasts for 1-2 years - with weekly floor cleanings (damp mop). It also keeps the grout from discoloring. I use Tenax Ager on our leathered countertops, too.

Not as good as I thought or wished
Update: Not sure why the order of the photos got mixed after original posting... So... I had purchased this sealer, tried it on a sample piece of granite, and returned it because it did NOT enhance the color of my stone as advertised or as much as compared to the Tenax Hydrex my installer had used on our new countertop. Boy was I wrong, and I feel so stupid after purchasing this again and running a test. Our granite countertop installer used Tenax Hydrex on our countertop upon installation, and they recommended its use every 6 months. It looked BEAUTIFUL immediately upon installation as it enhanced the color of the new polished granite. And the online reviews with tests and home testing and such for both the Tenax Hydrex and Tenax Proseal were so positive, so I ordered the Tenax Proseal AND the Tenax Hydrex at a much higher price than other (domestic US) brands. After running a test on Tenax Proseal and Tenax Hydrex and Micracle Sealant "511 Seal & Enhance" (from Rustoleum), I really regretted my purchase of the foreign brand. I sealed a piece of sample granite of the same type as my countertop (from my installer) EXACTLY as instructed by each manufacturer. I also waited the required 24 hours to let each sealant fully cure. I then applied a large drop of red wine and a large drop of coffee to each of the sealant protected granite and let the stuff sit for 3 hours. See the photo (without the pink sticky labels) showing the stains applied: left stains are on the Tenax Proseal; middle stains are on the Miracle Sealant (Rustoleum) 511 Seal & Enhance; right most stains are on the Tenax Hydrex. After 3 hours, I wiped off and cleaned off the staining liquids. See the photo with the pink labels. The best performing was the 511 Seal & Enhance from Rustoleum with no visible stain whatsoever (middle section of 2nd photo). The next best was the Tenax Proseal with just a very faint pinkish hue where the wine spot was placed (left most part of the test sample in photo) -- the wine stain on the Proseal section was barely visible in person, not sure if it's even visible in the photo, but I could see it under bright light only. The worst was Tenax Hydrex (right most in photo): There was a pink stain from the wine very visible in person, and although faint in the photo, still visible nevertheless. I'm no longer using the Tenax stuff... It turns out that I should have stuck to the trusty Rustoleum company that I grew up with. All three sealants I tested successfully repelled the coffee stain -- nothing visible from the coffee on any of the three sealed sections.

Must have for kitchen applications!
I recently got brand new river white granite. River white is gorgeous, but can stain easily. The contractor put Hydrex on it, but I made a tiny stain on it when I was cooking and a tomato seed fell on it I made it my mission to find something better. With a little research I found that Hydrex is great for repelling water (ie: bathroom applications), but I would need Proseal if I wanted to avoid kitchen stains. I put 2 coats of this on 2 days apart (I did it in 2 ft sections since it can get tacky if you leave it on too long. I waited 5 min. before I wiped and used a paint brush to apply it so that I didn't waste product with a rag soaking it in (I saw a video online of a granite manufacturer who recommended to add sealer with a paintbrush and I found it worked better this way). It is costly, but I think it is worth it to save my beautiful countertops. I was super close to getting quartz for the durability, but I went with my heart and chose natural stone and I am so glad I did. I have in my calendar to apply it every 6 months- its super easy!

If in doubt, order extra.
I think this is going to be a good product for us but two 1 quart cans barely covered one coat on 270 ft.² of natural stone. If in doubt, especially on stone, order extra. Also be very careful and make sure you’re ordering the size can you want. It can be very difficult to distinguish the smaller from the larger as they use the same picture for both.
