Is there any other way to turn of and in without remote?

Up by where the power chord connects there is both the on/off switch (that must be on for the remote to work) as well as an emergency power off button (red)

When I use the treadmill, the belt feels choppy, not smooth. I already used all the lubricant. Is this item defective?

When I got mine it was cosmetically damaged, but decided to try it out anyways. I have not had to lubricate mine yet, but at lower speeds it does feel choppy. The higher the speed the smoother the belt seems to be.
