Once installed this case is effective and convenient in many ways. Installation is so difficult and the instructions so inadequate it is possible that some may never get it on right. It requires considerable hand strength and much fiddling with it to make it work. So, here is an effort to help with this. The case is separated from the top down to the middle, which is two top corners and two side attachments around the middle. after that, slide the tablet in from the top and put it back together. all this is difficult. At the top corners, bend the silicon outward and back. You will see that there is a thick part and a thin membrane. Keep this in mind, for the thin parts on reassembly goes between the tablet and the back, but the thick part goes on the outside corner. Get down on the sides and separate those two attachments also, the one on the right is where the buttons are. On reassembly, after the tablet is put in place by sliding it in from the top, work the silicon back in position. this is troublesome due to the thin parts which go between the tablet and the back, and the thick parts which go on the outside. i reassembled mine only to discover that something was not right with the buttons and had to keep fiddling with it to get the various parts in right.; when it is in correctly the buttons work quite well and are not difficult to operate, making a slight clicking sound when engaged.; good luck with it. get help with a strong handed person if it seems more than you can handle. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great protection for butterfinger users like me *by V***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2021* I have wonky hands and drop things, so a protective case is essential for phones and tablets. My old tablet did not survive its last descent even with its protective folio case, so this "otterbox" style case was my go to when I bought a new tablet. Note that Otterbox does NOT make one compatible with Galaxy Tab A 8 inch tablets, but this is a fine substitute. The strap is great for attaching to things when I do virtual recordings as well as holding while I read an ebook on a walk. The access flaps for the headphone and power cord are big enough that they don't interfere with the cords.
