It is true that this book is a journal. It is a well done, beautiful journal in keeping with the other high quality items Rhonda Byrne has put out. One of the other 5 star reviewers gave an accurate description of the book, but I'm going into a little more detail so people who are considering buying it may be able to understand why they would want to purchase this to record their special and empowering thoughts every day instead of a plain old book or notebook. The book is small in size which makes it very portable. The cover is not leather, but it looks like leather and is embossed with gold lettering and symbols. The paper is high quality and the pages are not stark white, but a nice "easy on the eyes" warm color. Each day has a "secret" thought for the day and the word for "thank you" in a different language. (I haven't counted how many different languages there are.) The book has a "rich" look to it. If you've read or watched "The Secret" and you understand the Law of Attraction and how important gratitude is you'll understand why it's important to have a special book you love to write your important thoughts in every day. You could buy this book without an understanding of "The Secret" and find it useful and nice. But I think it would be best used in conjunction with the book or DVD to further anchor the empowering thoughts and feelings that make the Law of Attraction work in a good way for you.

I have purchased multiple copies of this - 2 for myself and others to distribute as gifts. It's the companion journal for "The Secret" book and I've almost used all the pages in one of them. I will be purchasing more of these.

This is a lovely journal for affirmations or may be used as a gratitude journal. Just keeping it positive.

I received the Secret Gratitude Book through the Law of Attraction. I watched the video several years ago and wanted to get a refresher. I wanted to get the book and the accompanying journal but it was Christmas time and I didn't want to dip into the Christmas funds at the time to do it and decided just to wait until the new year. Whenever I visited the bookstore, I'd take a look and page through the book and pick up the journal. For Christmas, I received an Amazon gift card. I bought the Secret Gratitude Book and the The Secret book with that gift card. I didn't have to wait until the new year and my next pay. People can say what they want to say about this series, but I see from day to day how the Law of Attraction works in my life. I am a Christian and I believe that when praises go up, when there's non-stop gratitude, when there is unwavering faith, God moves and puts things in place for those who do these simple things in sincerity. Whenever I feel I'm going to get the least bit discouraged, I pick up my gratitude journal and start writing about the many blessings that I have in my life, how many storms I have been brought through successfully, and how many holes from which I have not fallen....... The series is for the open-minded.....

The journal was smaller than expected but beautiful! It has lovely gold pages with inspiring phrases on each one and plenty of room to write your grateful thoughts. The journal is also very solid, and firm, and has a bit of weight to it with gorgeous, embossed engravings.

Why suddenly it's so expensive
