Review: Good morning my new friend. Smoother than Al Green. - In one sentence: excellent cold brewer that can make mortal coffee into a breakfast Demi-god. Ok, so hyperbole aside - this brewer is excellent. Very easy to use. Well constructed and delivers on the advertised promise of good coffee. I recently used this to brew some coffee using box box store economy coffee [think folgers or m-well house]. The results? More than passable and quite good. I wanted to deal this brewer a bad hand to see what it could do and I stand impressed. It transformed coffee that we loathe to brew hot into a smooth and mainly flavorful affair. I'll be using better coffee in the future - but am convinced that this brewer will continue to deliver. Product-wise, this is a very well thought out device. The sealing top is a great touch. The quality plastic (no bpa) is a minor demotion - but since this is being used in a cold application, I am less concerned with any kind of potential leeching. The size is another high point. It sitting in the fridge door is a smart choice and much appreciated. The capacity is enoug for my use. It produces four concentrated servings that suit my family's size well (2 coffee drinkers). The value here is superb. Cold brew is available in the grocery store at about $5 a bottle, so this stands to save on the cost of coffee and to produce less waste. Very pleased with this product. Looking forward to many smooth cups in the future. One tip: The coffee measurement is 14-16 tablespoons. If you aren't big on counting all the way to 14 or so, it looks like the coffee when measured and in the filter essentially lines up with the top of the filter where the mesh ends on the inside. I decided on this product because I have been a big fan of Takeya tumblers for several years. The name has been synonymous with quality and durability. I typically only use glass but the glass version is much more than I wanted to spend but this Tritan plastic version is very affordable and works the same. The recipe and instructions are included and it's extremely simple and was to use. The fine mesh filter is great because I prefer a less coarse grind and this does not allow for the fine grains to pass through, resulting in a very clean pitcher of cold brew. I love the aesthetics and design but it's very tall, making it hard to fit in my refrigerator configuration. I had to adjust the shelf to accommodate the height but other than that, I'm very happy with this product.

**Q: Can you use this to make ice tea? it seems the same as the Takeya ice tea maker but with a different colored top.**
A: It's not the same filter. The coffee maker uses an ultra-fine mesh filter, while the iced tea maker uses one that is not as fine. We also recommend using two filters - one for coffee and one for tea to ensure that you get the best taste from each beverage.

**Q: The suggested 28 tbsp coffee almost filled up the filter thingy - some grounds were even dry after sitting.  What measurement works best?**
A: After my first attempt, I also experienced dry grounds. The next time, I put the filter in the pitcher and gently ran water over it. Then I filled the pitcher with water and let it sit for 24 hours (I’ve seen some people only let it sit for 12-16)… It came out amazing. I drank it straight from the pitcher, black. Omg

**Q: When do you add infuser? do you put infuser in after 32 ounces or after 3/4 full? thanks. the instructions say to add 32 ounces and to fill 3/4 full.**
A: Add the infused after filling the container/pitcher with water. 32 ounces is about 3/4 full but honestly you don't need to be THAT exact with it.  Miss it by a little and it will be insignificantly stronger. Miss it by a little too much and it will be insignificantly weaker. It really won't make much of a difference either way unless you have a ridiculously refined pallet. Personally, I just fill it up and eyeball when I think it's about 3/4 full and then I put the infuser in (the infuser is already filled with the coarse ground coffee beans when I put it in the pitcher).

**Q: The suggested coffee amount seems so wasteful (14-16 tbsp) can you get away with using less?**
A: You can  try using less, stsrt with 9nor 10, then cold steep it for 24 hrs or even 48. Some brand names cold brew much longer than twelve hours.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy and Cheap Way To Make Cold-Brew Coffee

I've always preferred cold drinks to hot ones so imagine my joy when companies started selling pre-made cold-brew coffee in the grocery store. At about $7 per bottle though, it was costing me more to buy it that way rather than brewing my own hot coffee and adding ice. It wasn't until I was perusing YouTube and saw one of my favorite YT'ers pouring her own cold-brew out of a refrigerated container. I immediately toggled to Amazon in a search for one similar and I found this product. After comparing prices and reviews, I decided to give this one a try. 3 weeks and several brews later here are my takeaways: Pros: Easy to clean and use, coffee tastes great, not going back to buying pre-made! Cons: Durability seems fragile as the soft foamy plastic on the handle is coming up already, it will leak if you don't screw the lid on tight so beware, since it has to brew laying down it takes up more space in my small fridge than I'd like Overall though, it's a much cheaper alternative to pre made cold brews and you can control the strength and taste of your coffee by selecting the brand/grounds/roast you want and by adding more or less ground to the filter. Special Note: I read through a lot of reviews and it seems the main issue most people had was the coffee grounds seeping into the liquid. It appears from reading the replies from the manufacturer and by my own experience with this, that they have created a smaller mesh filter and have stopped shipping the product with the old style. The new style is so good that I'm using fine ground coffee and have had NO grounds in my end product. So please disregard older comments about this issue if you're ordering this for the first time. Another main issue is about the leaking but if you screw the top on securely and shake any excess out into a sink before placing it back into the fridge that will prevent leakage. For just in case, it's good to have a paper towel under your brewer when placed on its side.
